Good japanese restaurant. Convenient location.

Visited this place on business. The food was good considering other japanese food restaurants in Mexico City. Prices were reasonable. I liked the mushroom soup but was not impressed with the rolls. Also tried the sashimi which had been frozen. I would return to try other ítems in the menu if in the Reforma Avenue area again.

My husband is Japanese and I lived in Tokyo for 4 years before moving here, so we often want some Japanese food to eat. We often go to Daikoku on the weekends because it serves good food that tastes authentic. I'm surprised at all the negative reviews here, we have eaten here at least 10-15 times and while the service... More

I have frequented all 3 major Daikoku locations (Nuevo Leon in the Condesa, Río Lerma and Río Panuco) in the past ... and I just had a meal there when meeting a friend that was getting off of work in an office on Reforma. I am not sure where the recent reviews are coming from .... because I have never... More

I must admit there were numerous happy faces chewing on what they pronounced soot-shee, and we wished to have be able to have joined them in the simple pleasures of fun dining, but Daikoku is really a fraud, just take a peek into their "kitchen", - wish I had done that before ordering. the sushi was a fraud, the udon... They have a saying in many countries, "you get what you pay for" and this is a classic example of what we got. compared to REAL Japanese restaurants, who charge $20 usd for a 10 piece sushi combination, this garbage truck turned "restaurant" almost cost us our lives. Luckily we were able to vomit the disgusting crap they served and... More

This is a place to eat, it is not glamorous , having said that, it has the charm of being so authentically Japanese that it feels out of place in the middle of Mexico City, the three times that I´ve visited the restaurant our table was the only one with non-oriental clients. Now , about the food: the Sashimi is... More

Very popular with the Japanese embassy folks. What it is totally missing in ambience, it makes up for in food quality. Sushi is highly recommended.
