Posole to Die For

Definitely an upscale establishment with THE best posole I've ever experienced. The rest of the meal was very good but this soup just blew us away! While in San Miguel I tried this restaurant so when I saw this location I was excited to visit. Food was still excellent but not the same which was ok. Great location and the ambience was perfect for a nice dinner.

In the heart of the Condesa artsy neighborhood, this was one of the first restaurants established more than 22 years ago. The aroma of fresh baked bread receives you as you go up the stairs to the best terrace in Condesa. The variety of the menu makes the selection process harder since everything sounds amazing. I started with a huitlacoche... More

Gorgeous isn't usually a word you use to describe a restaurant, but it really fits Fonda Garufa. The interior of the restaurant is very nice and towards the back they have an enclosed patio (or at least, it feels like a patio) with the walls covered in plants and flowers. It's gorgeous and very relaxing to sit and eat your... More

Fonda Garufa is situated in a nice part of Mexico City & the restaurant has street side seating on the ground floor. We were upstairs in a nice setting overlooking the street with large, open windows. The bread was amazing. Lovely flavours, sourdough, olive & raisin to name a few. The homemade tomato salsa & herb oil dips were great.... More

This is one of my favorite places - their food is great and they have a really nice terrace in the second floor. They have great huitlacoche empanadas and very nice pastas, and great drinks so its nice to just hang out with friends but also good for a romantic dinner.

We found Garufa while exploring Mexico City. The roof top terrace caught our attention and we went there for lunch. The restaurant is located in Condesa in an area with plenty of restaurants to choice from. It was not very busy when we arrived but as the afternoon progressed it got busy with people, mostly locals, came in for lunch,... More

I was pulled towards this place due to its nice ambience, apparently diverse menu and several good reviews. Although I was not super excited about the food I cannot say it is bad, it's just too simple to come back for it. The location is quite nice, the music playing in the speakers is enjoyable and you can sit here... More

Very good experience having lunch in Condesa. While most places in condesa are either too cheap or too noisy, Garufa have a quite decent environment and you can enjoy very good Mexican and international dishes. Good place for a casual meal if you are tired of classic noisy or touristic places in condesa.
