Stopped by for dinner. Nice and friendly, a bit pricey, good food. Supposedly there is no smoking, but people smoked outside and the smoke drifted inside.

If your family needs a respite from chiles, carne asada, etc. here is a place to go for a very nice bowl of pasta, a cocktail and sidewalk dinner al fresco.

Food might be described as modern Italian. Very good - not cheap by Mexico City standards, but reasonable for quality elsewhere in metro North America. Inventive but not challenging combinations, very flavourful. Awesome neighbourhood. Unusually "funky" vibe for Mexico City (would fit in back home in Montreal or Austin, Tx). Would definitely go again. I had an interesting mushroom linguine... More

We were in Condesa for the entire evening and decided to have dessert before going back to our Hotel in Polanco. We really had to search the menu to finally find the dessert! The menu folded in such a way that it was almost as if the desserts were not a part of it :) Anyhow, the server suggested the... More

We loved our first visit to Cafe la Gloria. It was crowded late on a Monday night, with people vying for tables, which I take as a good sign. The menu was Italian/international, and we had some of the best pasta in our lives here, on par with our favorite meals in Italy. The fettuccine with mushrooms and cheese and... More

This was one of the few restaurants still open on Christmas day in Condesa so we gave it a try. The atmosphere was great and the staff friendly. The stuffed squash appetizer was excellent. The two main courses we ordered, seafood pasta and beef stew, were both good but a bit overpriced for the quality. Overall we're still very pleased... More

I really enjoyed this meal. The Roquefort torte they served as an appetizer was delicious, hearty enough to almost being one person's entree. My chicken breast in a cream sauce was excellent, and a nice change from the verde and mole sauces I had been eating daily. Dessert was good but not special, a not too sweet carrot cake that... More

i have been going to la gloria since '97 when i first visited mexico city...i really used to love this place! not that much has changed in the restaurant. it seems that the decor is the same, with the same informal service and vibe which is great. what has changed drastically is the cost for visiting la gloria. oh well,... The last time we visited in 1997 was okish; we went back in 2011 and the place is exactly the same. A bit juvenile, 'wanna be bohemian' and very '90s. Probably we have outgrown that type of places (we are in our late 30's)
