Good chocolat and cafe. The building as well as the current owners, Sanborns, are filled with old and fantastic stories, dating from early last century. It is a must.

For many Mexicans this is a favorite family restaurant, perhaps an equivalent to a Mexican dinner, in a good way. For me its a favorite every time I visit mexico.
if you are looking for great traditional mex food and the waitressses dresses in that style then this is your place....its also a great place to meet contacts as there is one on every corner...also the store boasts a wide range of products from cigarrets to meds to tvs...enjoy
Do not go to this restaurant for the food, it is pretty much what you can expect from a chain. Decent but far from exceptional. And you won't get sick. Do go for the location. The Casa de los Azulejos is a beautiful, history-filled,building and this makes it a must stop while visiting the Centro.
We did not go to this restaurant for the food. It is worth going to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the tile. Yes, it is filled with tourists like us. Yes, the food is pretty mediocre. You have to use your imagination when you are in this restaurant. You are sitting in a piece of history. This is a former...

This historic restaurant in the center of Mexico City is well worth a visit. Unlike the Sanborns scattered everywhere in Mexico, it is a fully funtioning restaurant with a wonderful old-timey atmosphere. When I first spent time in Mexico 40 years ago, it was my favorite place to hang-out. Although the food quality varies, the experience and general ambiance are...

This restaurant is situated in the Casa de los Azulejos or "House of Tiles", an 18th century palace in Mexico City. The name comes from the fact that three of its facades are covered in expensive blue and white tiles from the Puebla state. It belongs to the Sanborn Hermanos sa which, in turn, belongs to Carlos Slim, the richest...

Sanborns is an institution in Mexico City, there are many on every corner, but this one is on Madero the pedestrian street and in an old Blue tiled Hacienda type building. The ambience is fantastic, there used to be such parties there, make sure you wander through all of the rooms as each is very different. We went for breakfast...

What a disgraceful excuse for a restaurant in a city that is full of WONDERFUL dining opportunities. It is remarkable that such a low quality restaurant is located in such a beautiful building.
My father got food poisoning from his chicken tacos, and I was so disgusted by my very fatty pork tacos that I barely touched my plate and...
