The food is very good. Classic Mexican with a touch of modern inspiration. The setting inside a Hotel big patio gives the restaurant a typical atmosphere yet the decor and overall concept of the building makes it great for an afternoon meal and cerveza. The place has a blend of tourist and local people which makes it a great destination.

This place was recommended. The setting is gorgeous, just beautiful. Arrived and no host/hostess...so checked out a menu that was at the front. Decided to stay, and put the menu away.....waited.....waited. Their were 3 wait staff by the bar, who had looked over at us, but were waiting for something..... Ok.....one finally came over, took us to a table and... More

We hadn't meant to eat at Azul Historico, but in wandering around Centro Historico, we stopped in at the Downtown Hotel and "discovered" this very inviting courtyard restaurant on the ground floor of the building. There are a couple of other Azul restaurants in the City, and I imagine they are all good. We actually had reservations that evening at... More

Eating here is a homegrown pleasure for the palate, the eye, your senses. Azul is in a beautiful historic spot downtown Mexico. The decor, the food, fresh "tortillas" made in front of you. You'll enjoy everything. It's authentic!

Set in the gardens of a lovely building Azul Historico is making modern cooking with all the nods to Mexicos' traditions and past. Don't miss it

This location was recommended by a local and it didn't disappoint. A stylish, open air courtyard with high end designer shops (open till late) around the restaurant. Great food but I wonder what they do if it rains.

The place is actually awesome, location is kinda hidden which makes it a bit private. Food is GREAT if you're lucky to visit the place during a "culinary" season, they kinda invite well known chefs and the dishes they design for it are delicious. If you get the regular basic stuff then food goes down to "OK". Dont forge to... More

I was really surprised with the good reviews this place received. The service was poor and, at times, rude. We weren't told until we placed our orders that about 4 dishes weren't available so had to start again. When the food came one order was incorrect, we waited for another waiter to be brought over to confirm what we were... More

My first day in Mexico City I headed straight to Azul Historico, one of my favorite restaurants. It was a Saturday late afternoon. The rooftop terrace, attached to the adjacent Hotel Downtown, was booming a combo of rock and Latin music. There was a party and because the restaurant is in the open courtyard on the ground floor, I was... More

Azul was recommended to us. It took us awhile to find as it is set back inside from the street. You walk through a very old set of doors into an internal quadrangle with trees and refurbished shops and small restaurants around outer. Food menu was interesting, but great. Service was fantastic. We enjoyed our lunch, prices were OK and... More
