good fresh food, nice ambience

We enjoyed our dinner at Maximo Bistrot Local. This is a fusion restaurant which uses many Mexican ingredients to give a spin to a mostly French influenced menu. We had dinner and a drink each for $100. We had a very good tuna tartare and asparragos. The mushroom cream soup was good, not great. The... read more

The best restaurant I've been to in Mexico City. Maybe not the most adventurous menu but everything is cooked perfectly and the attention to detail is amazing.

I ate lunch at Maximo twice during a three week trip to the DF. If you are looking for traditional Mexican fare, this is not your place. If you are looking to spend 100 pesos for a meal, this is not your place. If you are looking for creative modern cuisine in a relaxed but elegant setting, this is your... More

I have lived in DF for almost a year and a half and tried many restaurants. This is my all time favorite!! There is no better place to get a steak than here. Their wine list is very reasonable and appetizers are divine (our favorite is the ceviche). You absolutely must call to make a reservation or don't bother trying... More

I loved my experience here. My best meal in Mexico City. Everything was cook to perfection and each part complimented the whole experience. A Sense of joy and wellbeing followed the meal. This is what eating should be too bad it is not a daily experience. Excellent value.

Great location in the trendy Roma Norte district. Lovely decor inside and very friendly staff. The food, especially for the price, was simply amazing. A modern take on traditional Mexican cuisine. The waiter brought up little appetisers on the house which was a really nice touch. I had the Red Snapper which was cooked in a slightly spicy curried sauce.... More

I was looking for a place at the last minute to celebrate my friend's birthday and stumbled upon this restaurant. Frankly, I'm surprised this isn't rated higher. We went without a reservation for dinner on a Friday night, so we waited at their cozy lounge upstairs where we could order drinks (that mezcal cocktail is delicious) and appetizers. The wait... Recommended by a local client, Maximo Local Bistro blends together Mexican ingredients with international cooking techniques. The Octopus Ceviche "a la Mexicana" was excellent as was the Lobster Rissoto and Chicken pate. Bring your own chair cushions, to offset the hard wood chairs.

Currently this is the best restaurant I know in Mexico and I have visited hundreds. If you are looking for a fancy place with everything extremely clean and a beautiful ambiance then this is not the place for you. But if you like the greatest delicacies with a highly creative fusion of original Mexican dishes with stylish European dishes then... More

I had a very bad experience at Maximo Bistro yesterday. The bistro is a little shabby (lack of cleanliness is evident, but locals somehow don't pay attention to it at all) but always crowded place (like Prosecco Rustica in Polanquito) where they serve quite a good food, but their portions are a joke. I can guarantee you that my risotto... More
