The restaurant is not in the nicest of street corners, the restaurant itself could do with a new floor - the floor of concrete tiles from the 50's does not do the restaurant justice - not chic. The food though was excellent in every way and will definitely go again.

Thank you for a wonderful dinner on 26 April 2013. My second trip to DF in 2 years and I booked ahead for Maximo bistro local. We were not disappointed. It was a stressful night for the staff, they were able to clearly communicate with us and continue a very professional service and again excellent, wonderfully surprising food. Would not... More

I loved this place, remind me a lot of Nobu, very delicate dishes with a Mexican punch! Best mezcal coktail i had. I just dont like to be seated at the street.

A lesson in averting disaster: After seeing a few reviews online before going, my expectations were already low; somebody wrote right here on Trip Advisor about "french meets spain" to which I could only shudder: horrible service meets oily food? In Mexico? Why? Still, we had a reservation and this place is apparently always packed so I soldiered on. After... More

Not so much local cuisine I guess. But WOW, how they tickle your taste buds. Everything feels like small French bistro and the menu is like a little trip to Spain. One of the army of servers helped us to translate the daily changing menu with a vast Mexican wine selection. Would come back any time. Worthwhile every pesos.

What's NOT to like!? The ambience was very charming, a corner bistro -- inside and outside dining. Service was efficient but not burdensome. A small wine list but quite good. Started with the mussels -- perhaps the very best I've ever had the privilege to eat -- succulent, cooked to perfection, amazing! The dry aged steak was delicious. But the... More

This neighborhood bistro is a young couple's very fine venture. They are cooking European style dishes incorporating Mexican herbs, spices and flavorings. My partner had raviolis filled with huitlecoche, the corn fungus. I had lechon, roast leg of suckling pig served with polenta. Excellent! Wish I could have had more meals here. Informal, popular neighborhood eatery, and well deserving of... More

This was our first experience of Mexican cuisine on our first night in Mexico City. We had been travelling for hours and hours and just wanted something quickly before going to bed. Our host suggested Maximo which was close by - what a good suggestion! Luckily they had one table available and we could get 3 chairs round it. It... More

We loved our dining experience here. The restaurant is small, but very personal. You can see into the kitchen. Chef owner came out several times to help us. No English menu. He was very attentive and eager to please. Offered us a pigeon course that was not on the menu. The food was delicious and special and just the perfect... More

It is not elegant but has a great charm. Very good food. Try the Burrata. The selection of wines is modest and very acceptable prices, they have nice Mexican ones. The dessert was also excellent. Price quality is above average.
