good fresh food, nice ambience

We enjoyed our dinner at Maximo Bistrot Local. This is a fusion restaurant which uses many Mexican ingredients to give a spin to a mostly French influenced menu. We had dinner and a drink each for $100. We had a very good tuna tartare and asparragos. The mushroom cream soup was good, not great. The... read more

Recommended by a local client, Maximo Local Bistro blends together Mexican ingredients with international cooking techniques. The Octopus Ceviche "a la Mexicana" was excellent as was the Lobster Rissoto and Chicken pate. Bring your own chair cushions, to offset the hard wood chairs.

Currently this is the best restaurant I know in Mexico and I have visited hundreds. If you are looking for a fancy place with everything extremely clean and a beautiful ambiance then this is not the place for you. But if you like the greatest delicacies with a highly creative fusion of original Mexican dishes with stylish European dishes then... More

I had a very bad experience at Maximo Bistro yesterday. The bistro is a little shabby (lack of cleanliness is evident, but locals somehow don't pay attention to it at all) but always crowded place (like Prosecco Rustica in Polanquito) where they serve quite a good food, but their portions are a joke. I can guarantee you that my risotto... More

A wonderful meal! Probably our best during 5 weeks in Mexico eating at foodie restaurants in DF and Oaxaca. (But be aware that this is not a white tablecloth type restaurant. As the name implies, it’s a bistro: bustling waiters, tables close to each other, street noise and whirling police car lights apparent - but the informal vibe is part... More

It is our second visit to Maximo Bistrot. Food is excellent, but portions are small and overpriced. A side note (we had never seen it in a restaurant): we asked the waiter for a well done beef and he said that unfortunately he couldn't do it because the chef does not change the way dishes are prepared! In other words,... More

Menu varies based on what's available, but is always amazing. This is high-end new cuisine, definitely Mexican-inspired, and served in a casual and comfortable environment. You should definitely make reservations, which you can do on OpenTable. If you get the chance, come here and eat. You'll love it.

Sad... I've just realized that my last review of this joint was more than 2 years ago, and while food can be considered good at its best, it gets ruined by the awful service you get that starts when you call to properly make a reservation (being a small place, even living a couple of houses away from it). It... More

Unique and fresh food are served here. However the tight seating and long queue, unfortunately can make the dining experience challenging since it can be loud at peak hours. Otherwise a nice restaurant overall.

I am a solo female business traveler and frequently dine alone. I couldn't get a reservation for 1 here so I just showed up. I sat at the beautiful upstairs bar for a while, had some tasty drinks carefully prepared by a most charming human and patiently waited for a cancellation/noshow. I waited less than an hour and was rewarded... More
