We were visiting Mexico City and decided to try Maximo Bistro for dinner. Upon our arrival we were seated and a waiter who was assigned to our table seem less than enthusiastic to serve us. He made no attempt to engage in conversation with us. The Menu was written in the smallest font and was very hard to read. My... More

I have been to Maximo several times in the past 6 months and each time the food has been excellent both in presentation as well as taste. I especially love their foie gras. The desserts are a weak point across the board (and also don't change too much), but last night the French toast with rompope cream was excellent. The... More

My dearest friend and outstanding chef of Beefbar , Eduardo Morali recommended this place to us when visiting our beloved Mexico City and I have to admit - it was unforgettable experience - those flavors of Mexican soil in appearance and composition created by chef Eduardo Garcia made our evening (and night) in Bistrot Maximo so unique!!! If you in... More

this top Roma restaurant is often bustling, but management seeks to find space. Two visits in May 2015 were top notch. First, when no table available included a trip upstairs to a cozy bar area where great margaritas were served. The roast pig (lechon) had skin that glistened like mahogany and enhanced every bite of tender pork. Don't skip deserts.... More

"A good chef has to be a manager, a businessman and a great cook. To marry all three together is sometimes difficult."- Using Wolfgang Pucks quote is optimal in explaining the deficiencies in the business of whom, a great majority of friends and family argue, is a fantastic chef. I have found Maximo, twice, to be lacking. I reserve qualifying... More

Whether you like fish, steak or pork, this is the place to be at Colonia Roma. Just make sure you book a reservation with plenty of time. Seriously, more than a week in advance. Not doing this will refrain you from getting a table at this fantastic Bistrot, and unable to enjoy the fantastic suckling pig, octopus ceviche or the... More

We had good, but way over-priced food which we would've enjoyed had they not charged us twice for our already expensive meal even after we noticed and asked them to rectify their mistake of charging us 100% of the bill as a tip! The manager apologized and said the previous credit card charge had been cancelled, and brought me a... More

I am perplexed as to why Maximo is not rated higher. Fantastic food--well prepared, simple presentations with great flavor. The restaurant has a great vibe and is not pretentious. Haven eaten at both, I prefer Maximo over Pujol any day.

The best meal I have had in a long time. Portions were modest but even so we left feeling too full after a terrific three course meal. The menu had more than a few selections that were GF. I'm not sure if someone with celiac would be o.k. but with a profound allergy to gluten I was completely fine. The... More
