Excellent... the best in the zone!!

One of the best restaurants of the city and certainly the best in the Basilica zone, also good location for the pyramids trip. Old hacienda style with a gorgeous patio. We have been living in Mexico for three years and I think this is the best Mexican restaurant we have been to. You can ask for a tailor made salsa by looking at the wide range of ingredients. I had the spicy mushroom soup and the fried huachinango (red snapper) which was excellent. For desert the camote (sweat potato) with... More

The patio at Monte Cristo is not to be missed. It's springtime all year round in their beautifully appointed patio. The food was outstanding and the service was amazing. Very close to the Basilica for those visiting.

We were fortunate enough to have our guide Hector Hernandez of Diamondtransportadora.com recommended this place on our day trip to the pyramids and we loved it! The place is charming and very nice inside. Like going to a true Mexican hacienda. The service is stellar and our meal was authentic and delicious. We are from Arizona so it helped to... More

If you are in Mexico City, Monte Cristo is a MUST, no matter how heavy the traffic from wherever you are coming. As you enter the gate of this amazing Hacienda, you are greeted by the courteous valet parking staff. As you make your way to the entrance of the restaurant you can see very distinctive motives from the old... More

we have been to really nice restaurants around the globe and this was the first time in our life they discriminated us for "not being well dressed! We went to the Basilica de Guadalupe and after that we search for a restaurant nearby. We got here expecting a good meal and also great service. We were greeted by a lady... More

We stayed at the Hilton and this restaurant is pretty far away from there. We wanted to eat there due to the great reviews. The setting, the restaurant itself and the service are nice. The drinks are good. I was not too impressed with the food. We had chicken, that was not special, spare ribs pork that was Ok, Shrimp... More

Went to this restaurant for lunch with some colleagues. The food was totally AWESOME...and authentic. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are searching for a true Mexican upscale restaurant (not your typical taco stand type restaurant). They make the dipping sauces in front of you to your liking...mild to extremely hot! The tortillas are made by hand and... More

This is a beautiful place located at the north in Mexico City. It is and ancient house with excellent maintenance, but the better is the food and the service (not in this order necessarily). The waiters know their jobs, they memorize the menu and can suggest you many things. The food quality is great and the flavor too. There is... More
