The food, the ambiance, the service. We all tasted each others dishes and one was better than the other. From the uniquely upscale Mexican stuffed chilli's to the escargot and lamb, not to mention the desserts. One was better than the next. My friends are Mexican but I only speak English and I felt just as comfortable conversing in English.... More

Bistro 83 is OK. I was not that impressed with the food, especially at the relatively high prices. It's OK, you will not have a bad time. You probably will wonder why the prices on the menu are so high though.

Went here with some visiting family on the recommendation from a friend in Mexico City. The place is kind of hidden away inside the Plaza Grand a block off Plaza San Jacinto in the Centro de San Ángel ... so if you go on Saturday or Sunday you can check out the famous arts and crafts "(very upscale) flea" market... Bistro 83 is set within a beautiful mansion tucked in a beautiful street in San Angel. I have been visiting this area for years since I used to live in the South of the DF and was truly "wowed" by this restaurant. We visited for dinner, sat on the terrace overlooking a beautiful garden. The food was spectacular: we tried... More

This is a great restaurant in the heart of San Ángel (Plaza San Jacinto). The food is of great quality (expect high prices), the service and ambience are sleek.

The setting is idyllic, with beautiful gardens and a serene atmosphere in a restored colonial house in San Angel, one of the most charming areas of Mexico City. The choice of furniture and decoration is tasteful and contemporary. The oversized menu offers so many different enticing choices that makes it hard to choose, it all seems delicious. Once we made... I went for the first time to Bistro 83 for a business dinner, I wished it was a romantic dinner with my wife. The location in San Angel is just fantastic, The fig salad was great and the french dip sandwich was excellent, however I heard the same about the other dishes my colleagues ordered. Ask for a table in... More

Anyone familiar with Mexico City's colonial San Angel neighbourhood will know that on a Saturday there is no better than to wander around the Bazaar del Sábado - shop there for wonderful classy arts and crafts and then consider having a nice leisurely lunch in the area. Normally I would head off to the San Angel Inn and in fact... More
