Surprisingly Good Airport Restaurant

I have pretty low expectations of airport restaurants but Casa Avila surprised me greatly. It was convenient next to the Airport Hilton so we decided to have dinner there during a recent trip through Mexico City. the Service was prompt and courteous and they gave us English menus without... read more

food is ok, even reasonably priced. But the waiters here are a group of clowns and there is clearly no management in place. I was seated near the waiters station and had the pleasure of listening to them making completely unacceptable comments about each and every diner in the restaurant. People like this should not be in customer service. The... More

To be honest I'm not keen on airport dinning. But this restaurant is a rare exception. Menu choices are vast and chef's cooking is delicious. I tried the Cochinillo, portion is reasonable and taste is exceptional. Will surely come back on next long layoff. Nice wine list by the glass and Jamon serrano, hand carved, is a must. Keep it... We always take breakfast in the restaurant at Terminal 1. I specially recommend the meat balls ( albondigas). It i a very quiet and relaxing place, far from the crowds. Service is excellent. And Spanish music is nice.

Traditional mexican upscale cuisine with a mix of spanish influence. Very convenient location if you are at the Terminal 2.

I was quite surprised to find such a good restaurant, in an aeroport !!! The service is very good and the location at the top floor is ideal as it is really quite (although the TV sets were a bit loud for my liking) away from the huzzle and buzzle of arrivals and departures. The food is well presented and... More

This restaurant is expensive and bad, that's the worst combination, we had lunch 6 people and three of them become really sick, service is bad, waiters just want to serve drinks with alcohol, every time ask you for getting more, and don't bother about bad food, maybe they want customers drunk to charge more Don't come at least you want... Terminal 1 at MEX is home to a couple of decent restaurants, however surprising this may seem. This one is Spanish theme and my every expectation was far exceeded. Gazpacho is one of those seemingly-simple offerings that usually disappoints, but this was among the best I've had in this hemisphere. Octopus, so easily ruined so as to have the texture... More
