A lot of action

This is a drinking hall. Various mariachi bands can be commandeered to play your favourite Mexican song for 100 pesos. The whole place might sing with them. Not much else to eat but Birria, goat ragout, but it's good.

My review is quick: this is the real Mexico's cantina! I was the only tourist on a friday night. The menu is simple: tacos & birrias! Please don't look for fancy cantina's chain, choose the real Mexico experience next time you are at DF

There is just one kind of food: "birria" (goat meat). They will serve it in a soup or in tacos. No more things in the menu, beware. They also have a great variety of drinks and entertainment. Maricahi music as well as other types of Mexican groups. It is a great cultural experience in a huge restaurant very near Polanco,... More

More

Tacos were better than most places in Mexico City. The beer was good. Service was not that great, but the ambience made up for it. I gave it a four stars cause of the add on like mariachi band and left the place like my money was well spent. Would I return? Maybe, but worth trying at least once.

I am just finishing up my meal with the family. The food is great, tasty, and delicious. Definitely something you will be hard pressed to find in the states. If you're in the area it's a great place to stop by for a bite. Not a Ruth's Chris by any means but delicious food for a quick stop.

La Polar is a treat – an authentic Mexican eatery with Mariachi coming by and Birria considered by some the best in the city. The restaurant has been in business since 1934! The good news for tourists and business travelers is that they take all kinds of credit cards, including American Express! Go on and taste the original “goat soup”... More
