Amazing historical atmospheric restaurant

No doubt, Bar La Opera is a must into the historic center of Mexico City, it doesn’t matter if you go for lunch or for dinner or just to take a drink, but be sure to stay there. This place is not just another bar, it’s a place with 120 years of history and many important figures of the Mexican... More

A must visit while in Mexico city historic district. Revolutionary Pancho Villa fired his arm and the hole left still can be appreciated in the ceiling. It has french decoration, for 6 or more people ask to be seated in a booth they are really cool. There is live music. Be prepared to wait 30 to 40 minutes to be... More

The food was inedible. I had read the reviews and thought if we just ordered simple things like guacamole or enchiladas or the like it would be okay. Boy, were we wrong!! The guacamole was not even mashed. The enchiladas tasted as if they had been made two weeks before. They had some sort of liquid cheese on the top... More

I went here last night quite unexpectedly and was very pleasantly surprised. The decor and atmosphere are worth a visit alone and we had a light meal. Snails in chipotle sauce were a treat however messy. Very reasonable prices for food and wine. Good service. I would go again

I first went here a few years ago and found it okay. It's not change for 100 years which is why are you go. The food was fairly poor; the margarita a bit small. It is Reasonably priced. I would recommend it for drink if you're in the neighbourhood. The mariachis were in fine form the night I was there.

This place was recommended in our guide book and we weren't disappointed. We went for lunch and loved the setting. It felt like we stepped back in time. The food was good and the service was over the top attentive. There weren't a lot of people there, but sometimes a slow restaurant doesn't mean superior service. Prices were reasonable and... More

We had an enjoyable meal here, the beef was delicious, cooked to perfection. The service was very good and the music was nice in the background.

We loved the atmosphere and the food. Food was a little over priced, but good. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive. We half expected Pancho to walk through the door at any moment. Seemed to be a place where expats and business crowd gather for drinks, conversation and good food. All-in-all; a place one should definitely visit when in the Alameda... More
