My husband and I had the most romantic and charming experience here one evening. The atmosphere is amazing...which makes up for an ok menu, the food is good but not outstanding. That said, the place is just very cool with amazing architecture and history. The strolling musicians came to our table and played beautiful love songs for a few dollars.... More

Having read about La Opera we arrived for lunch around 2.30 - the place was almost empty and dark, we nearly didn't go in. Luckily we did. It filled up with a nice mix of local businessmen, other locals and tourists and had a nice buzz. It's very atmospheric and we sat close to Pancho Villa's bullet hole, which added... More

We had full attention of well dressed and polite staff, full tumblers of the best tequila for the price of a shot, a fine bottle of wine and great food, and the total price was less than we expected, hardly more than a lunch at some resorts. So we were very pleased. At 9:00PM, when we arrived, the room was... More

Yes, it is a very touristy place and if were not for Pancho Villa shooting at the ceiling almost a hundred years ago, probably not many tourists would come in here. However, the bar is marvelous and the whole interior is nice to look at. Prices are higher than usual. Service is good. There are some interesting items on the... More

Overrated for us, food was not the best, people at the bar seemed to be enjoying themselves so maybe stick to that

We stopped in for a quick drink and ordered the Mexican flag which is a shot of lime juice, a shot of tequila, and a shot of tomato juice. It was so smooth you didn't know how drunk you were until you stood up. The architecture is quite impressive. There is a hole in the ceiling that Poncho Villia Maeve... More

We went to Opera bar for a meal on a Saturday evening. We were luck to get a table at this popular cantina. The food was good and well priced and the ambience was great. We enjoyed it.

We stopped in here late one evening for a few drinks. We had just returned from Lucha Libre at the Arena Mexico and we were in great spirits. The bartender was very fun and introduced me to a great tequila I might not have ever tried otherwise. Before we left he brought us La Opera post cards to take home... More

This is a total rip off. They charged for stuff we didn't order. We however called them out on it. Botanas were not great either and we spotted no real food options as in our favourite cantina close by. Don't bother with this one

What is the definition of a tourist trap? High prices, low quality, loaded with tourists... Enter La Opera Bar. As soon as we walked in we were greeted in English...I am 100% Latin. There is no way you would know I was a tourist....Unless everyone in the Bar is a tourist....And they were 100% touristas. The menu is glorified Taqueria... More
