We decided to host a dinner for an Indian delegation that we led to prominent trade fair in Mexico City on 20th November 2014. One Mr Sagar from restaurant was co-ordinating with us. He quoted about 500 Mexican currency units plus 15% service charges for two vegetarian dishes, one pulao, raita and two Indian starters. Even onions (which in Indian... More

A decent Indian restaurant in entire Mexico, due to lack of any serious competition. But its too pricey, expensive than Washington and London restaurants.

I come to Mexico often and stay in Polanco. When I have a craving for Indian food I go here. The food quality is decent but portions are small. the ambiance leaves much to be desired . The seats are old and outdated and found an open nail on one occassion. Be careful with the bill they charge a service... More

I seek out Indian restaurants in foreign cities not so much because I want to eat food from my native country, but to check out whether they are representing Indian cuisine authentically. Dawat was a big disappointment in this respect. They cater to the commonly held perception of the "spicy" Indian food. Indian food with its blend of exotic spices... More

Being a big fan of Indian food, I can't call it authentic indian food what they serve in Dawat. It's overpriced, service is slow and really really bad. They bring you chicken when you asked for seafood and wouldn't do anything about it. What the??? Also, they charge you more money "by mistakes" and it takes ages for them to... More

We had a three course meal, starters and sauces were fresh and tasted great, even though they didnt have mango chutney. main was again great and we had Kulfi (indian pistachio ice cream) to finish which was absolutely delightful. Staff were friendly and the restaurant was very quiet for a saturday night. All in all very nice meal just a... More

It's quite the adventure trying new restaurants in different cities and Dawat is definitely theee best restaurant here for Indian cuisine. The place is very small and the ambiance is peaceful. There is a glass window to watch the actual Indian chefs make fresh authentic indian dishes. Tandoori dishes are fresh and full of flavor! The naan and parathas are... More

I have been to Dawat twice and have enjoyed it both times. I like Indian food a lot, and I think the food quality is good, but portion sizes are a little small. Last night we had the chicken tikka masala (one of my favorites) and a spicy lamb dish, along with the lentils (which I love). When combined with... More
