I have been twice in this restaurant and both times food has been great. The chef proposes new dishes with a twist (some may not like this), but he best is the wine produced by his family. Sincerely, the red I tried has been one of the most complex wines I have ever had. Decor is simple and may be... More

If you want something different than the normal dinner dishes, baja california cuisine recommendation was well received on our behalf, it did not disappoint. We did have to make reservations ahead of time, luckily we did since when we arrived the place was packed. Once settled in, we ordered many dishes to the center so we could try the many... More

Over Easter week we visited Merotoro which I had been told by many to be excellent and it didn't disappoint! The food was exceptional. Being mostly a "Baja Cuisine" you get a lot of great seafood but to my surprise they had the best Iberian Pork Jowle I have ever had, on a bed of wonderfully cooked lentils and toped... More

If you want some fairly interesting seafood dishes, and are OK with paying a lot of money for them compared with what you would at most other restaurants, this is your place. A couple can easily spend $1,000 pesos here (77 USD). The food is not amazing, but it's something different and pretty nice. It's some of the more interesting... More

Merotoro is located right on Amsterdam Avenue and was a short walk from our hotel. We loved the open front of the restaurant and the design. Things started on the right note with a delicious ceviche. The chicken entrée was also very good. However, the restaurant missed the mark on the fish entrée (overcooked, dry and tough), as well as... More

This is a great restaurant opened in 2010 by the chef of Contramar which we recommend also. I read about it in the NY Times. It features the cuisine of Baja California so it is a mix of meat and fish, or Baja surf and turf, thus the name. I had a wonderful meal with friends so I was able... More

..........this was my favorite eating experience while working in Mexico City this time around. The menu is very fun and interesting. I would definitely suggest the abalone, if they received any on the day you are dining there. If you want to explore Mexican delicacies that are not easily found, this is the place. Excellent variety, service and execution. Yum!!!

I have been twice in the last month and really like this restaurant. It is expensive, but the food was excellent both times. The lamb and short rib entrees in particular were fantastic. The location is nice, the service is attentive, and the open-air layout of the restaurant is very pleasant. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

I was with friends and family there, and due to a lack of organization, we almost could not eat any main dish from the menu. The manager present this night was so lousy and idiot that he was not able to excuse himself for the lack of oranization and he blamed the clients that have eaten everything. It was at... More
