Sublimely Satisfied Solitary Summer Sojourn

If there is one thing you must do when visiting Mexico in the summer, it's to try chiles en nogada. It's a poblano chile stuffed with minced meat, raisins and pine nuts, covered in a walnut cream sauce and garnished with pomegranate seeds. Because of the pomegranate, it's only available in the... read more

I spent the day in Puebla and heard all about the chile de nogada. When I walked by mercaderes they had an ad for chile de nogada and it was as if it was a sign that I needed to stop in and order it. So of course that's what I ordered. Now granted I don't know much about it... More

Ate a dinner and lunch at this restaurant and would thoroughly recommend. Local Mexican food was well prepared and presented. Staff very helpful. It's location means that you can visit some of the sites and then lunch, though people tend to be smartly dressed was my observation, so not sure about shorts if you did go for lunch!

This is a superb restaurant with great food offerings. All our dishes were delicious and well prepared. We wanted to sample Mexican wines so appreciated the sommelier being available with wine trolley on hand to choose our selections by the glass. Well recommended restaurant.

Great food, great menu, perfect service from waiters, quiet, no rush to leave, fine environment, prices worth the food and service, the place invites you to relax and enjoy. The best choice in Mexico City, specially for breakfast. A must chocolate with water Oaxaca style and concha with nata fresca, mhhh delicious!!

We stumbled upon this restaurant while exploring the streets around the Zocalo, and I could tell by the look of it that it might be good. After some research here on Trip Advisor (thank you, other reviewers!), we decided to have dinner here -- twice. Of course, since dinner is not the main meal here in Mexico City, the restaurant... Great entryway, nice ambiance, but terribly slow service! The couple next to us told the waiter, we ordered our food in the spring, see if you can bring it to us by autumn. Ordered Pechuga and Filet Mercaderes and would not order either one again, as neither was impressive at all. It completely baffles me that a restaurant with this... More

This is Mexican nouvelle cuisine. Superb dishes ( I loved my shrimp in orange sauce and my husband enjoyed stuffed pepper) . Very upscale in feeling with white tablecloths and nice china but not as expensive as I had expected. Great quality. We're going back.

A guide recommended this restaurant to us. We spent a month in Mexico and this was one of our best meals. The food and service were excellent. We had planned to eat our last dinner in Mexico there but a delay returning from an out of town excursion made that impossible. We were disappointed not to have the chance to... More

After a nice stroll through the city, on our way to the Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico we just had a look at the entrance, the menu. As it looked pretty nice we decided to give it a shot - to make the story short, we came again the day after. The setting is a very nice one and made... More
