A nice peruan restaurant in Mexico

Astrid & Gaston is a nice restaurant, but not the best I have tried in Mexico. They didn't have tuna and I love it, so that was not so good. The dishes are ok and there is a dessert called "surprise sphere". It's great!!!

A couple of weeks ago I was in Mexico City on a business trip and I was suggested to go to Astrid y Gaston restaurant. It is located in Polanco area of Mexico City. The food was delicious, service was outstanding and the environment was really comfortable. Although it is expensive, I recommend going to this restaurant spend at least... More

I can understand why this restaurant has locations around the world. The food is good to quite good. However, everything else about the Mexico City location can, and likely will, ruin your meal. When we arrived, we were told that they didn't have any tuna available. Which might not sound like a big deal, but when practically every other dish... More

The food was excellent on the whole course of the menu from their signature Ceviche, to a creative goat meat ravioli and an amazing passion fruit chocolate desert. What was in the plate did not disappoint but the atmosphere was rather old fashioned and the lighting excessively low. The place lacks the vibrant energy that you’d expect. Still worth going... It doesn't matter how good the food is, how good the service is, how lovely the place is. It just takes one screaming child with parents who are totally disengaged to ruin an experience. Obviously some things are uncontrollable, however, this does not seem like an environment for infants, nothing was said, no food was brought or suggested for the... More

I visited this Peruvian restaurant in Masaryk with my family. We did a reservation for diner in advance. The decoration of the restaurant is very nice and the ambient was calm with dim lights and low noise. The food was excellent, it could not get better. We asked for a fish ceviche, an outstanding octopus, shrimps, quinoa, fish with chiles.... More

Went on friday 3pm, the place was half full, we had to ask the waiter for our drinks since after we sat no one approached us, after that and taking that into account we asked for our entire meal, our starters took 20 or more minutes to be ready, we asked the waiter and they didnt even care!!! The quality... More

A fine dining restaurant in Mexico City, AyG brings a piece of Peru to your plates. The atomosphere is comfortable, with a large fire at one end. The service staff is excellent but lack English, so we had to depend on our Spanish speaking friends throughout. The food is splendid with each dish tasting unique. My food find was Ceviche... More

Wonderfully set in an ample space in Polanco, Astrid y Gastón proves its very solid reputation spread over many locations around the world is well deserved. Well thought-out interesting dishes, attentive service, a wonderful well-appointed setting were all there to be enjoyed. While there were not exhilarating high notes, nothing -from wonderful cocktails to desserts- was below very good either.... More

Have been there 2 days ago, got good seats after 10 min waiting as nobody was at reception so had to go upstairs where all the waiters ignored me. Finally got a good table. Selection of food was good as expected, quality was average at best and far below other like in Lima. Wine selection very poor if you do... More
