The restaurant’s ambience is elegant (ideal for a romantic dinner, a special occasion, or a business lunch). I do suggest asking for a table in the terrace located upstairs. The service is what you should expect for a restaurant rated as one of the tops in Mexico City (“deferent” & extremely professional; but far from uniqueness). The wine list, the... More

First of all, I never made it to Astrid y Gastón in Lima, so I can’t compare. The restaurant in Mexico City was a last minute choice. I was all by myself and made reservations through their website for half an hour later and everything went fine. The ambience is great, fancy, classic and the service was excellent. I chose... More

The ambience is nice! Worth to ask for an "outdoor seat", which is not really an outdoor, since it is covered, but, it is a little too warm for me. We tried three different types of Pisco, the passion fruit, the traditional, and another pisco, "Gaston's favorite". In my opinion you should stick with the traditional one. The ceviches are... More

We had lunch there during the week. The place has a business lunch style and it has a nice terrace that looks nice to have some drinks or dinner. Food and drinks were superb, bread selection offered at the beginning amazing and the service perfect. One of the places we will visit again.

The food is DELICIOUS, some of the best in Mexico City. The service is also amazing. Price is very good. Atmosphere; not so good, there was a jazz band playing way too loud. I have nothing against Jazz but if I'm going to such a place, I want to talk with whomever I'm with.

I love the design of the place, there were a couple of bonfires at the backyard that looked great. The food was amazing, we got ceviche, stuffed potato/chili, humita, octopus' anticuchos, picarones and of course the remarkable Piscosour. T The taste of the food was good, unfortunately some dishes are not prepared with Peruvian ingredients such as lenguado/corbina fish, pallares,... More

The good points.. The classic ceviche, bread, and Pisco's (have they shrunk though?). The beef was overcooked, the lamb peculiar tasting, and restaurant empty on a Saturday night... Perhaps very telling. Has it fallen from grace? Once the best restaurant in this city, now very disappointing and very expensive.

Wonderfully decorated restaurant with an impressive terrace, perfect for any private event, very good service. Pisco sour is good, ceviche not bad but a few dishes my group tried were not amazing. I guess because the restaurant is so impressive you expect the food to be amazing too.....I would definitely try it out but don't expect too much.

I visited Astrid y Gaston with a native of Lima, who was familiar with that location and thus very eager to share the experience. The restaurant itself is quite lovely, and the initial service formal and well executed. However, past the first cocktails (excellent) and ceviche (good), everything went downhill. Regarding the food, the overall impression was one of overwhelming,... More
