Judging by our experience at Yoshimi (a restaurant located in a former Japanese hotel, the Nikko, so one would assume must be good) and the raving Tripadvisor reviews, México really lacks competition in terms of Japanese eateries. The food was mediocre, with dishes ranging from good to downright disgusting (eg. the udon in a broth that is just too thick... More

If you are staying at Hyatt Regency Mexico you should go to the Yoshimi restaurant. This is a nice japanese restaurant with great menu. I enjoyed to have dinner at the Sushi bar. If you enjoy rare fish, ask for the unagi rolls and salmon rolls or sashimi.

It is expensive and food is rather mediocre. In Toronto I can eat better Japanese food for less money than what we paid at Yoshimi.

I had eaten here previously when the hotel was the Niko... then I had some of the best Salmon sashimi I have ever had. On this return visit they did not disappoint! All the fish was very fresh and tasty and the rolls were made very traditional. The soft shell crab was exceptional and the salmon sashimii was still tasty... More

The menu is extensive with many great dishes. The stone garden, waitresses in kimono and the decor remind me of Japan. Overall very pleasant dining experiences :-)

First, I have lived in Japan for 12 years and my wife is Japanese, so we are very tough customers when it comes to Japanese places in other countries; it is very hard to get "right", even the simple dishes, starting with rice. And, DF is inundated with mass-market sushi places that just cannot be good at their price points;... More

The best in Mexico. Forget about fashion sites that jeopardize authenticity of this gastronomy with crazy combinations. If you love original taste and interesting options, go Yoshimi.

food here is very authentic, as good as anything I have had in Asia. The service was also top notch which those of you that eat Japanese cuisine often will know is important, lots of dishes so they need to be managed properly. Ambience is good also, woud suggest you tried it.

Without any doubt, this is the best japanese restaurant in Mexico City. Beautifuly appointed place with a very professional service and outstanding quality on the food. Prices are high, but fair enough for eating superb sushi and wonderful tempura in a complete japanese ambiance, including a beautiful Zen garden. Portions are not big, but this give you the oportunity to... More
