Great food

Amazing food in the very nice Polanco neighborhood with great service. The margaritas are a must, especially the tamarindo one. The deserts are also amazing.

It doesn't get much more Mexican than the food in this restaurant. Although the food was not excellent, it was really tasty and together with the mariachis, it created an amazing ambiance that is hard to forget. The prices are in the mid to high range which makes it good for a family visit.

I mean the Margaritas a are as big as your head. Not the Mariachi band. Though after what is basically half a litre of ice and tequila, who knows?

We went for lunch after arriving in Mexico. This place is such a hidden gem, the art work is great and the funny sayings all over make this restaurant as unique as the beautiful city it's in. Oh yeah the food, very good selection of classics and beautifully mastered twits on the traditional. The margaritas are also beautifully mastered and... More

Amazing, 100% recommended restaurant if you like Mexican food and Mariachis performing live. The waiters are so nice, they even make recomendations for each person, depending on the kind of food you like, or even if you do not eat too spicy (which is my case). It was a business dinner, so we were about 10 people. Food was excelent,... More

Dinner was booked by agency in advance of the visit to Mexico. Dinner that cost 80€ was a line of corses which mightsound posh and worth trying but it was not a pleasant experience! The place is packed with tables, you are limited with time as another group is coming..do not go wild on margaritas - they are huge, and... More

The first impression when you've arrived is that you’ve in a tacky touristy restaurant... Then when you start reading the phrases on the wall you realize that at least you're going to spend some good time... Then the great surprise comes with the food, which despite the unpretentious setting, is excellent Mexican with a great variety of options! The filet... More

At Villa Maria you get Mariachis with the largest hats , Margaritas in the biggest glasses, people with the largest smile and so on .. Nothing is to be taken seriously , especially not the sentences painted on the walls ; the idea is for you to have good time in what is designed to be a mexican restaurant true... More

First dinner in Mexico and couldn't have hoped for a better place. The food was excellent and the Mariachi Band was great entertainment. Probably expensive by Mexican standards but great value compared to similar quality in Sydney.
