Fm excise food with a modern twist

The food was a small portioned trendy take on Mexican, served in a minimalist restaurant on a modern shopping street. The food was pretty good and the service attentive, if a little lacking in English skills (and why should it be otherwise?). Finally, I'm not used to Mexico City prices but this... read more

I had heard a lot about this place, and finally had the opportunity to have lunch with business colleagues. Don't get me wrong the food was fine, but it simply didn't amaze me. Normally when you order the menu as I did in this kind of restaurants you expect the dishes to be superb, worth to remember. You leave wanting... More

this was one of the great restaurants in Mexico City, I visit it today, my last visit was a year ago. First of all only, people only in a couple of tables, and the service was terrible, even when the restaurant was empty. We need to call the waitress over an over to take care of us. The new menu... The "Cocina Gachupa" is a brilliant, fantastic combination of Basque and Mexican Cuisine. Alonso and Oteyza are geniuses.

We ordered the five course tasting menu, each course was delightfully presented and tasted exquisite. Waiting staff were very attentive without being overbearing, exactly what I like. They didn't speak English but we had a Spanish speaker with us so that wasn't a problem. All round a great venue!

Finally, I'm not used to Mexico City prices but this place was cheap by European standards. I would... More

I am very sad about writing this review, due Biko was virtually my favorite restaurant in Mexico City and possibly top 5 worldwide. While food remains being awesome, service quality have dropped to the lowest standards I have seen in this range of restaurants. Last time I visit with +6 friends, no one explain menu as they usually did in... More

The bar was set high due to the reputation and ranking of the place. Only complaint (minor one) was 3 different servers each provided different explanations on how the menu was organized. Aside from that, service was great - always someone there ready. We had multiple courses - all were fantastic from the fish to meats. The most interesting was... More

I have been to many restaurants on Mexico DF. I heard a lot about this restaurant. So far, it was a waste of money and time. Decoration is awful. Service is slow. Food is limited by some dishes with some fancy names. Very limited menu if you dont eat seafood. I do not recommend it to any of my friends.... More

No surprise, given the notices, but we felt Biko lived up to them. Our menu choices pulled from the traditional menu as well as the modern interpretations and everything had flair but also tasted wonderful. Lots of imagination, but none of the silliness that sometimes creeps into the new Basque cuisine. It also helped that the wine list includes a... More

The chefs in Biko not only master the art of cooking with impeccable technique, they go far beyond, they cook with the soul. I had the pleasure to visit the restaurant with a group of colleagues, and we tried most of the menu "lo de antes" is just delightful and "lo de hoy" is impressive. It is not frequent that... More
