We came here on recommendation by our tourist guide. It's a traditional place with lots of nicely decorated tiles. The staff here dress traditionally with interesting doilies on their heads. In terms of customer service, they seemed to be a mixed bag however: not all that smiley and helpful but our waitress was. Food was good and reasonable and portions... More

Another antique gem in the Centro Historico that is especially wonderful for breakfast or cena. It is often packed with regulars having hot cocoa & tamales, or delicious enchiladas with artisinal beer. A thoroughly wonderful experience!

Overall, my partner and I didn't enjoy the restaurant because of the food. However, before I go into the reason for my rating I would like to say that the building itself is fantastic. The colours and designs really make this establishment a great place to eat. Our initial waiter was very pleasant and cordial. The waitress who took our... More

Cafe de Tacuba is an institution in Mexico City. It is around 100 years old which is not obvious from the vibrant and attractive decor. The restaurant is spotless. The service is efficient and friendly. The food is very good. This seems like a particularly family friendly restaurant. I will return.

Delightful food, really good customer service and acceptable prices for the oldest and better restaurant in town.

This is a restaurant created by Spanish immigrants in Mexico in 1912. It was a gathering place for these expats for many years. The decor is lovely. Beautiful tiles, impressive paintings. The unique characteristics included ëstudiantil,¨or simulated estudiantil, a small band of musicians dressed as they would have dressed in the middle ages. The restaurant was also characterized by the... More

The food is really good. We came back several times here. The decor is super cool. It is located in a building that used to house woman with mental illnesses. The staff are great. What else could you want? Good food, decor, great staff.

This place was so good that we went there two of our four nights in Mexico City. Located a few blocks west of Zocalo. Clean, welcoming environment. Although quite busy with locals and a few tourists, seating was immediate. Service good. Musicians fun. Great experience!
