Tacuba is a fixture of downtown Mexico City. The food and service is attentive but in the classic tradition it is not rushed. It can be very crowded around brunch on the weekends but don't let that deter you - in all the times I have been there I have never had either bad food or neglectful service.

This cafe is down the street from the National Art Museum, the famous Post Office and the Palacio de Bellas Artes on the street Tacuba 28. The Cafe de Tacuba should not be missed. Unless you look for it, you may miss it. From the street you cannot tell that just beyond the front door is one of the most... More

The history, the service, the food, the Jamaica/agave drink, the coffee...everything was just superb. The live music made it muvh better. I truly think that is a Must go restaurant.

This is a 100 year old restaurant with very colourful décor & a huge live band serenading guests. The food was pretty ordinary so without the music you wouldn't bother.

Let's say that the decor is lovely and typically Mexican and let's also accept that the restaurant is an institution in Mexico City. But that a side the food is not so good and is very expensive compared to other Mexican food restaurants. If you want something Mexican with a lovely ambiance and all the turistic stuff better go to... More

I haven't been for a few years but I love this restaurant. The decor is lovely and the staff are great. The food is wonderful. I recently told someone I know that is visiting Mexico City to try it. I will always go back if I am in Mexico City again. The location is central and easy to get to.

My driver recommended I visited this place since I was staying at the hotel central zocalo only few block away. The location is downtown but I felt very safe walking The approximate 8 to 10 blocks to this restaurant. I was told this is a place favored by locals and foreigners because it serves traditional Mexican food. I am glad... More

This restaurant is in the centre of Mexico City and I definitely recommend it. It is a large and bustling place, The waitresses are in starchy white uniforms and are very friendly and motherly, like in American diners. The building is wonderfully tiled and ornate and everything is clearly really well organised. The food is standard Mexican and is very... More
