Had a great lunch here, seemed to be full of locals. And it was recommended to us by a couple of parties. It didn't dissapoint with lovely enchiladas.

The restaurant offers great atmosphere with it being in an old building, the have mariachis playing and of course an excellent authentic Mexican meal at reasonable prices. As a tourist one can tell if there are a lot locals eating at a restaurant is will have good food. Great place for "real" Mexican food.

A bit expensive and nothing special on food but the decoration, including the uniform of the waitresses, is a must to see - great fun

The cafe has been around since 1912 and the decor, the ambience, the mariachi, the food, the local patrons- it was all perfect ! We are vegetarians and had no problem finding menu items to choose from.Cafe con leche and the Mexican hot chocolate were my favorites :)

We visited Cafe de Tacuba on our first day in Mexico City. I have to say that the Ambience was sooo beautiful Lots of cultural history in the building. The food however, was not as great. First of all, our waiter was completely lost when we asked for our food to be Lactose Free. Took three tries for our quesadillas... More

Café Tacuba is located in the Centro Historico on Calle Tacuba, an extension from Avenida Hidalgo. During one warm afternoon we took a taxi ride from our hotel on the Reforma and arrived at Tacuba 28, fifteen minutes later. It was 2:30pm in the afternoon and the stage was set for the main meal of the day, Comida, in one... More

Place looks dated , the staff is not friendly and even if the food is ok the prices are way too high, they charge for the location ( tourist area, downtown) and the name!there are other mexican restaurants that look nicer and have better service ,...
