This place was so good that we went there two of our four nights in Mexico City. Located a few blocks west of Zocalo. Clean, welcoming environment. Although quite busy with locals and a few tourists, seating was immediate. Service good. Musicians fun. Great experience!

Go to café popular. Same food, just h better price. Though it doesn't have th ambiance of tacuba, the staff were much nicer and the food much more reasonable.

This restaurant is very well known in Mexico City Historic District and it deservedly earns its reputation. Almost a museum with its collection of art work in each room and the food was wonderful. I had the tamale selection and they were the best tamales baked in banana leaves I have ever had. Don't miss the coffee with leche (milk)... More

The interior of this cafe is almost enough reason to visit it, but the nice atmosphere (sometimes life music) and the excellent food are adding to this experience. A slight disadvantage is that many people know how nice it is: sometimes you have to wait before you can be seated. But in my case it was worth waiting.

I've been there many times since 1992, is one of the best places in Mexico, with traditional food. The food is still very good through the years. There really eat Mexican food. The restaurant is located in an old building downtown. I recommend trying the sweet bread, tamales, enchiladas and mainly special Tacuba. It's a great place! Highly recommended!

This place is awesome, the food is traditional mexican food. And is delicious and abundant. There is always live music, and is very good. The employees are friendly and helpful, I totally recommend this. Good location also.

Friends took us out to see the sights one night, and said we would really like Cafe Tacuba. They were wrong. We loved it! Great food. Great value. Ask for the coffee at the end of the night...nice presentation. And live music was really nice. Not mariachi. Not that I dont love it, but it was nice to hear something... More

My family, half Mexican half Kiwi, took my visiting mother to see this landmark restaurant. The interior is certainly worth a look, but the food was only reasonable. What drops my rating was the service, perhaps not the fault of the staff, but they certainly contribute with misleading prices over coffees etc. We asked for large cappuccinos and read a... More
