Excellent typical Mexican food in the atmosphere of an old monastery just in the heart of the city! It's a must go when you are in Mexico city

This is a traditional Mexican family restaurant in every sense. The food is basic for the most part but nicely prepared and served. I had the Mexican enchiladas. Delicious. Prices are middle ranged. Dinner for two with drinks and dessert and coffee was $800 pesos. Be sure to try the margaritas...but ask for the Don Julio Reposada tequila. Ole!

I loved this place! I felt so Mexican as the Mariachis played below and the waitstaff scurried around. My friend ordered hot chocolate and got the most chocloty chocolate ever seen. More like soupy chocolate pudding but it was delicious (and he could only manage to drink half). I just groved on the hustle and bustle and picked at my... More

I came alone on a wednesday and took daily menu. Food was not more than acceptable Enchilladas as a starter were old, the soup merely more than water. Than came a plate of red cöoured rice. The main was the best, but nothing I would come back for. Dessert was a flan without any special taste, the coffee was not... More

This is my friend's favorite restaurant in Mexico City. We liked it so much we ate there twice in one week. The chile rellenos de queso and chilaquiles are excellent!

I was in Mexico City for work last week and ate here twice, even though it was a cab ride away from where I was staying in Polanco. My colleagues agreed that it was fantastic - delicious food, friendly service (even though our Spanish is not so strong), great atmosphere. I recommend the chiliquiles for an appetizer and the chile... More

I thought the prices were very reasonable and the menu offerings provided a good selection of some regional favorites. The music is nice and the restaurant is very clean and comfortable. It's good for entertaining many guest and the servers are well equipped to handle large crowds. I had the Oaxacan tamale. It was a bit spicy but very tasty.

This restaurant is in a former mansion that was built in the 17th century. The Cafe has been in it for 102 years now. The decorations are beautiful, especially the mural of the nuns in their kitchen at the entrance, plus the other paintings on the walls. The traditional Mexican food is fabulous. The tamales are some of the biggest... More
