We heard a lot of raves about this place and showed up bright and early for breakfast on a weekday and found it full and crowded with locals, always a great sign and Cafe Tacuba did not disappoint. We have been to cafes like this in other parts of the world and like them, this is not some facsimile retro-chic... More

You feel as if you might be in Spain or Italy. Look up. Imagine Romeo on his knees with eyes upward to the third floor balcony dripping with ivy where Juliet is waiting for him. The decor is simply outstanding. Painted fresco flowers. Gold framed portraits and landscapes. Tiled walls and floors. The wait staff are eager, prompt, courteous and... More

Found this place on the lonely planet guide and loved it. The traditional look of the interior pulls you out of time and space and there I enjoyed well prepared and freshly cooked dishes. Staff friendly and welcoming, they gave us good advice on what to try as our first real Mexican experience. The place was packed with with local... More

We ate here the night we arrived. They graciously accommodated our large group and the stragglers who joined us late. We were serenaded by the strolling mariachi band. Some of our party raved about their menu selections but others found their food too bland. More knowlege of unfamiliar menu items might have helped. Overall an enjoyable experience.

We visit the Zocalo area several times a year and we love to eat at Cafe Tacuba. It's great to know we have a place with amazing atmosphere and delicious food close to all of our favorite spots. It has become a no brainer to wear ourselves out walking around the Zocalo then head straight to Cafe Tacuba to rest... More

The food was quite good, but the corn ice cream was yummy. There wasn't anything bad about our entrees but they weren't amazing. I'm not a dessert person but I loved the corn ice cream. The restaurant is very beautiful and the service was quite attentive. The glass of house wine wasn't very good at all it ran me about... More

Another recommendation from Alejandro and his staff at the Hampton Inn & Suites that was amazing! We ate two evening meals and were not disappointed. The guacamole dip was a great appetizer. The second night we told our server two in our party were celebrating birthdays and to our surprise, the manager sent over two pieces of cake while a... More

Perdio. Just go early, make the line, and have huevos rancheros and all the pastries you can have. DO NOT forget the coffee.

I love the restaurant deco. From outside you will not know how big the restaurant is. So do take a look at the second floor if you are sitting at the 1st floor. We order daily special set menu for 5courses plus tea/coffee is around 240peso pp. We were very stuffed at the end. I like the tortilla soup a... More

We loved our food here. It was so good we went twice in our five days in MX City. I always had the mole/pollo. My husband had Tacuba Special....it was amazing. The second time he had a '4' combo plate....sorry forgot the name. It was also amazing. Loved the building, the staff were super. The second time we went was... More
