Went twice, stuck to the pizza options which were both excellent. Good selection of wines. Had 3 different salads on our visits, all excellent. Service was excellent from all the staff, especially Aldo. The last night there was a live jazz band which was great. Cannot comment on the food other than the pizza Price for a pizza, 2 salads,... Living in a city nearby, I have been in Guanajuato downtown countless times taking visitors. After a long walk, each time we try one of the restaurants in the downtown (Teatro Juarez, Parque Unión) and they are always disappointing. This place is, by far, the best in the área. It might not be the best restaurant I have been to,... More

Bad service but lots of seating. Not a busy joint. Comfortable chairs but nothing to say about the food. The inside decor is interesting, somewhat artsy.

My wife and I had dinner at La Capellina last night. We enjoyed the pleasant old world ambience and excellent service. The food was good but not remarkable. My wife had two steak cutlets with an interesting sauce. I had a pasta dish with rabbit. Although the pasta dish was ok, somehow the combination of flavors did not add up... More

Beautiful space with creative and delicious food. The service was excellent. Might have to go back to Gaunajuato to try it again.

I stopped in for a very late lunch and La Capellina was wonderful. I had originally wanted to eat on the square, but the restaurants there looked like not very good food (big hamburgers and soggy french fries), so I looked a bit further and found La Capellina only about one short block off the square past the Teatro Juarez.... La Capellina Restaurant, in Guanajuato, offers a fine dining experience at great prices! The beef is top quality, the fish fresh and the sauces divine! A place not to miss!

I came here for a late night meal with my girlfriend last Saturday. When we first walked in, we were both surprised at how loud the jazz trio sounded. It is a smaller space and if they toned it down a bit or had better acoustics, it wouldn`t be a problem. Now to the meat and bones of my review.... More

Went there for dinner, great service, intimate and friendly atmosphere. Central location off the zocolo. This is fushion italian and mexican. The empanada was very tasty after getting rid of one layer of bread. The double filet medallions were tasty and flavorful, but one was over cooked. The arrachera was delicious, primarily due to the sauce. We are planning on... More

Food was OK. Flavor could be improved and the selection of wines was not the best. The personnel was really nice but there was something we hated: The man without uniform (supervisor or owner perhaps) was the arrogant type. It was not nice at all to witness him mistreating the employees. At the same time, when he came to see... More
