Excellent food and great service

I had the best New York steak here at taberna de Diego y Frida in guanajuato. After asking around for a full day and no one knowing where it was at . We found it. Just a couple of yards away from the actual museum. Good steak , good salad with an excellent dressing that consist of the chefs... read more

Mom and I were tired after a day of travel, and chose this place because it was next door to hotel. The food and service were great- we were early, so only 2-3 tables were busy. There are more tables than it seems, due to multi levels. I had a yummy dorado, in an orange and herb cream sauce that... More

The owner seated our party of five in a side room of the main dining room. It was like a secret little cavern, so intimate, we enjoyed the experience. The food was well prepared and creative.

Visited the place while on our New Years trip. Going in with 10 other people into a small restaurant was complicated to accommodate everyone but the servers went out of their way to work with us. The chef came out and personally gave us his recommendations off the menu and every single one of the dishes was more amazing than... More

This was the first place we visited in Guanajuato, initially we were heading to Mestizo restaurant but it was closed so we checked this one out which was nearby. We were the first to arrive, the owner and Chef Alberto approached us minutes later and recommended us to try the Serrano tapas, VERY GOOD starter, also the beef in a... More

It is a nice restaurant, the food has good quality and it is inexpensive. Staff is very friendly. We had lunch there and enjoyed it.

How is this rated so high? Food was average at the most and price-quality ratio was ridiculous. The place is nice but we expected something much better having read the reviews here. Pro tip: "papas a la diabla" are ridiculously hot but ok tasting.

I decided to return to this charming restaurant on our recent trip to Guanajuato because I wanted to see what other delicacies Chef Alberto had to offer. I tried the Pescado (fish) and my friend had a fillet of beef. I enjoyed my entree and my friend said that her fillet was tender and flavorful. We each had a couple... More

Unique restaurant in Guanajuato. La Taberna de Diego y Frida serves a unique Mexican and Mediterranean food. I have the Paella with a group of friends. The owner suggested a bottle of wine. to my surprise was from a winery in Mexico. It was perfect combination with the delicious paella. The food and excellent service made such a great night....
