Lunch

First meal in Guanajuato. I had flaotas. Wife had chicken tacos. Guest had the tortillas soup. Shared a guacamole. Had three bottled waters and an ice tea. Total bill was $10.00 usd. Hit the spot and was cheap to boot.

The tour guide at Teatro Juarez strongly recommended this place so we went and it was no big deal. Service is super slow - it seemed that there was only one waitress for the entire place. The food was OK and definitely much cheaper than other places. Probably a place to check out for a drink or a cold beer.

Having made that assertion, owning a home here for 11 years, 10 minutes from TRUCO, and a sometime client, FOOD is not a priority attractant of Guanajuato. TRUCO 7 is safe and reliably average. They ARE busy precisely because other restaurants are unsafe and consistently poor, including, especially, hotel fare.

Usually, a line out the door and long waiting list, promise a great restaurant. Not so in this case! The long wait is just because the table turnover is so slow, the service so terrible, way beyond the usual Mexican relaxed pace. This despite it being a relatively small place, and we noticed lots of wait staff, but they whizzed... More

If you don't wanna pay too much for food that is tourist-oriented without walking to far away from the heart of the city this is the right place to go. Si quieren comer algo decente sin pagar demasiado por los tipicos menus al estilo turista y sin alejarse demasiado del corazon de la ciudad este es el lugar ideal. Hier... More

We went here because we asked one of the Diego Rivera's museum guide recommended it. We weren't disappointed, the food was nice and the place is well located. The only but we had, was that they only accepted cash.

This is a cool looking place and has great character. However, when the food came, my husband and I weren't impressed. My nachos with "American cheese" had 2 slices of the plastic-y cheap kraft cheese that is sold in individually wrapped slices. Even when I pulled that off, the nachos were pretty gross. My hubby had the mole enchiladas. They... More

Truco 7 is our go-to place in GTO and has some of the best mole in Mexico (I know, your mama's mole is better). The prices are good, the food is excellent and the decor is quirky and interesting, full of the works of local artists. The service is uniformly slow but that is becuase they are usually so busy.... We went there for breakfast due to some locals recommended. the food is ok but not outstanding. Despite the price is reasonable and the place is average of decoration. Must be cleaner and painted of course. Service is also average, I will not come back definitely

Went there for a late casual dinner because everyone goes on about it. Nice atmosphere with friendly staff. But the meet was tough and marinated in processed sauces. The garlic sauce on top seemed to be processed too. The vegetables were boiled to death. The salad contained a tiny bit of iceberg lettuce with heaps of boiled and canned vegetables.... More
