After being hungry almost all day long, we decided to try this restaurant and found a very pleasant surprise: real Mexican traditional food with great flavors and good portions. You should try the Caldo Tlalpeño and the Enchiladas de Pollo.

It is typical mexican food. The service is good and there are often long lines but the go very quick.

La Chata was so close to our hotel and due to Trip Advisor we went there. Decor is very pleasant, very Mexican (that's what I'm looking for when in Mexico after all). Pozole was good (not the best I have eaten). my husband's enchiladas were very disappointing: chewy, blend, boring.

Noisy, touristy food, waiters run off their feet. Not my idea of a good restaurant. It was recommended by the hotel, so we were disappointed. The food was stodgy and the flavour was poor.

We stayed at the Morales Hotel in downtown historic Guadalajara and we walked to the Chata Restaurant, just barely two blocks away. Loved everything about it, Great Lobby, room and service. Lots of great restaurants around and the market is not far, quite a real experience that you won't want to miss. La Gorda for breakfast was excellent if you get a window seat you will most likely be entertained by street musicians too!

Had a great evening dinner. Friendly helpful and professional staff. Would definitely go again and prices were great for food provided. Nice simple dining!
