If you want traditional Mexican food this is one of the places to visit in Guadalajara. Beware that during busy lunch and dinner times there is always a line out the door. It is worth the wait.

This is a GREAT restaurant and often has lines to enter. It's very near the Cathedral. The food is cooked and prepared from the front of the restaurant and you can see everything being cooked, made, prepared--interesting concept.

For my girlfriend and myself this place is an old faithful. Really good food, the pozole is excellent, nice atmosphere and not pricey. There are a couple of locations in Guad and one in Puerto Vallarta. They are all consistently good. Really good Mexican food. We have probably eaten there 20 times over the years and have yet to have... More

This large restaurant is not far from the center of town - and often has a line of people waiting on the street to be seated. I understand when the line gets long enough, the offer waiting patrons a beer. Fortunately or unfortunately --- the line was not long enough for me to enjoy one until my friend and I... More

You may end up waiting outside during daylight hours but might have easier access later in the evening. We walked over from Federalismo at about 11pm and waited a couple minutes to be seated. I was expecting a simple menu but the choices were varied, Mexican fare very well execution. The customers were varied, the staff was pleasant and the... More

Arriving on a Sunday, we were dismayed to find that most restaurants close on Sunday or close by late afternoon (be forewarned). We took a walk from our hotel and saw a lime of people waiting to get in to La Chata. We were seated within 5-10 minutes and found the food worth the wait. It was good, traditional Mexican... More

My family and I were recommended to this fantastic restraunt by a local family we met. We ended up eating several meals here including breakfast, lunch and dinner. What great food, fantastic English speaking staff, and fantastic atmosphere. We never had to wait to be seated and they called a cab for us that met us at the door. A++... More

I ate here with a friend and loved it. At first, there was a long line, but it moved super quickly and we were seated in about 15 minutes. The waiters are friendly and efficient, and you receive your food quickly. While you feel like the wait is short, you don't feel rushed inside the restaurant. I had the caldo... More
