We visited El Sacromonte the other evening and it exceeded our expectations. What a wonderful meal! My husband had a soup to start, the cold avocado and watermelon soup - decadently creamy yet full of flavour. For our main course, I had the "Queen Isabel" - jumbo prawns in a delicious lobster sauce, even the accompnying vegetables were done perfectly.... More

For large groups or small groups, this place will always please. The food is wonderful there! I have never been disappointed, and I've been many times. The service is also excellent, and so is the atmosphere. The menu has quite a variety

While the quality of food has not dinminished, the competition has improved. Good thing for Guadalajara, and foodies in general. Have been coming to El Sacromonte for over 20 years, and still one of my favorites in all of Mexico. Must haves are quesadillas Las Cibeles, El Viejo Progreso(roquefort and chipotle) and Coyoacan (black bean and red wine). Highly recommended,... More

We had dinner the other night and were looking forward to paying a return visit to this very good restaurant. There they serve basically traditional Mexican dishes in a special style. The restaurant has a very nice decorum of various historical pictures and a pleasant atmosphere. The price are very affordable and inviting to a full scale meal. from the... More

This used to be a great place for Mexican food. Unfortunately, now it's terrible. The Chile en Nogada is so sweet they can serve it as desert, that's a pity. The mole us horrible it has so much sugar you can't notice the other spices. Everything is overpriced and bad quality. I don't recommend at all.

We were a party of four and we shared some starters. My favorite were the quesadilla with strawberry jam, siunds weird but was very tasty. As main course i had steak with a coriander sauce which was really good. Also the service was amazing. Just the right place for dinner in a nice atmosphere.

This was an accidental find, while walking the streets of Guadalajara after rejecting a restaurant recommended by my hotel. It looks good and characterful and was seemingly well patronised by North American and/or European clients. However I felt it over-rated in terms of both food and service, - I would not go back. There is much better to be had... More
