Very friendly staff with excellent English skills. The building has a fun wall of tequilas in the entryway and in the lobby floor has a wine cellar under the glass floor. I ordered the tortilla soup (outstanding and very rich) and the chicken breast with mole poblano, also wonderful. The margherita was terrific and not overly sweet. Definitely gringo-friendly without... More

To begin with, the staff is friendly and takes good care of you (everybody). Food was excellent including the not so usual fried ant eggs (it sounds gross but it was a good dish). The plates presentation was nice and the price was also very reasonable. I would certainly go back.

Spending just a night here, coming from our home in San Miguel de Allende, I tapped TripAdvisor for restaurants close to our hotel. Closest was "La Tequila," rated #1 in Guadalajara. From the greeter who was sweet, very pretty, and immediately switched to English when she partook of my Spanish, to a wonderful, well-appointed dining room, the evening started on... More

Everything was perfect: nice setting in the bar area upstairs, good music, good cocktails (of course with tequila) and excellent food: we tried the chicken and it was absolutely wonderful. Very good place to go for a romantic dinner or for drinks and a snacks with friends.

Very good food. Be careful - portions are large :) We had 3 first courses for two people and it was enough. They make your salsa on the spot to your taste. Service is great and very friendly. Overall a fun experience!

The restaurant is about a twenty minute taxi ride from the historic city center, but it's definitely worth the trip! The atmosphere is perfect: casually upscale without being pretentious; we sat upstairs in the bar on the patio and got to watch soccer games while we ate. My partner and I started with margaritas (perfectly made of course) and shared... More

This is a wonderful restaurant. Great food, open air second floor section was amazing. Staff was great, lots of selection and of course Tequila! Tried the Grasshopper Tacos. Not my thing but others loved them. When in Rome....

Been going to La Tequila for more than 10 years, always an excellent service, great variety and quality in the food. We bring our international visitors to this place every time, and all of them leave with a great feeling in their hearts. The food is not "typical" Mexican in the way most Americans know: no nachos, burritos, chimichangas, etc.... More

The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. Their collection of tequila is outstanding, although not all are for sale or sampling. Still, the selection is very good. The service is top notch, attentive, accommodating servers are always there when needed. The salsa is handmade table side in traditional mortar (molcajete). Delicious! The salt-baked filet of beef is absolute heaven! Wrapped in... More
