We had just gotten off the Jose Cuervo Tequila train, with huge delays due to rain. We took a taxi to the downtown area in search of a highly praised taqueria called Los Alteños. As it turned out, our taxi couldn't find it, even with exact address and GPS assistance. After an extremely frustrating hour and a half, we finally... More

And 5 star attention to detail. We were advised by our hotel, Villa Ganz, to try La Tequila. We were in Guadalajara for 3 nights and were lucky enough to eat here twice. It was exceptional, beginning with the staff. We had superb service and the food was delicious. Sunday I tried the Chiles en Nogada. An incredible poblano stuffed... More

Dined on a Thurs evening. Pretty busy, Thurs night football on the tv's. Coconut shrimp were delicious as was a "taco" with a special kind of chile relleno with marinated pork inside. More than several dishes were from other regions of Mexico. Would have given 5 stars but the service was spotty. Lots of tequilas, even Fortaleza, which is hard... More

First let’s star by saying La Tequila to my knowledge has two locations in GDL: Av. Mexico and the second, which is the one I visited at the south of the city. This second location is within a shopping mall of restaurants, yes as I said it, just restaurants. The name of this place is “LA GOURMETERIA” and is located... More

One of my favorite places to eat anywhere. Not high end but excellent and very consistent in their mid-high range. I visit every time I'm in town. They excel in the more "elaborate" dishes, so I would normally choose something like the Mixiote, the Barbacoa or even the Chile relleno over the more plain steak plates (arrachera, rib-eye and such)... Having had excellent Sunday comida there back in February, we were looking forward to a dinner experience. As we found in February, the service was attentive and prompt. We chose to try the Chile Norteno and the Lamb Barbacoa which proved to be marginal choices but we made those choices on our own. The Chipolte Sauce on the Norteno proved... More

Beautiful restaurant. You walk in and see over 100 different Tequila brands behind a window display at the hostess desk. As you walk I. Below your feet is a glass floor that looks over their wine cellar. They have an 8 course tasting menu with over 40 Mexican small plate items to pick from. You check off an appetizer, soup,... More

I used the TripAdvisor to find out about the good restaurants in Guadalajara. We were going to be there for only one night. We got to the restaurant on Sunday afternoon. It was packed. But we got a table very fast. Great service and great food. I ordered lechon. Which is BBQ baby pig.I will go there again.

Very friendly staff with excellent English skills. The building has a fun wall of tequilas in the entryway and in the lobby floor has a wine cellar under the glass floor. I ordered the tortilla soup (outstanding and very rich) and the chicken breast with mole poblano, also wonderful. The margherita was terrific and not overly sweet. Definitely gringo-friendly without... More
