Not having been to La Matera in quite some time we decided to visit this past Wednesday evening. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30p.m. We were staying a hotel virtually across the street. We explained to the young hostess that we didn't have a reservation. She assured us that it would not be a problem. Upon our arrival the... More

Wonderful place to spend a dinner. Been here for official purposes also. Each time was great. Staff speak English(not all) if you are wondering about that. I would recommend a reservation even on a week day as it is full almost all the time. Be advised, steaks are big. Unless you're good eater I will recommend sharing it. Also they... More

We had not been back to La Matera in a while, as our last visits had been somewhat disappointing and quality and service had gone down. We decided to give it another chance and I am glad we did, I had a great pasta bolognese and great steak! Service has improved too. I would be back just for my pasta... More

I had the pleasure to visit gdl and as soon as i was picked up at the airport we made our way to "la matera" we arrived about 3pm and was pleased to have a table ready. I ordered my personal favorite the bife de lomo with mash potatos, followed by their incredible flan. Hands down the best steak house... More

La Matera was my first introduction to eating out in Guadalajara, and it set a high bar for a week-long stay, which included a second visit. Friendly service (in English/Spanish), nice atmosphere inside and out, good ambiance music (if you like Thievery Corporation, and the like), and of course, really good food. My favorites were the grilled octopus (best octopus... More

This to us seemed like a real Argentinean Grill in Guadalajara, even some waiters are Argentinean. “El Vacio” a juicy beef cut is delicious, the portions, it’s all you need for dinner, superb cook. Lastima that our trip ended to soon!

Have eaten here 3 times in the last couple of years. Only ever had steak. Each time has been cooked to perfection, rosemary potatoes are excellent. Portions are very big and I've never been able to manage a desert. Staff are friendly and helpful. I always eat here when in Guadalajara.

Suggestive place and local people. I suggest to eat Entraña ... Beautiful! Even if you stay in Guadalajara a short time, you must eat there, at least one time!

One of the best grills in town. Always good food, good quality, good service and the exact point of cooking for your meat. Good appetizers and usually great atmosphere. Make reservation and be patient if your table is not ready.

We have reservations for this past weekend but never made it into the restaurant because the valet was the worst I have ever experienced. When we expressed concern about the security of our vehicle the valet proceeded to ridicule us with, "I have driven better cars than this!" Guess driving a BMW in Guadalajara is too low-brow. My boyfriend thereafter... More
