Best Mexican Food of My Life!

Wow, I can't stop thinking about the food at this place. I am an American who loves Mexican food, and after a week of eating at highly rated places in Guadalajara, I tried out this place on my last night and was blown away. It ranks as the best Mexican food I've ever had. The service is a little... read more

The chef/owner tries his very best with his limited English, now we are in Mexico so I don't fault him that but he should a least have some menus; he explained his dishes and obviously we could not follow him so he brought a sheet listing the dishes. However, candlelight is very nice but when the light is so low... More

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent atmosphere. Don't expect to find a luxury fake restaurant, but one of the best traditional, natural and artistic places around. A most dine in the city. Carlos and his crew have done a wonderful job. (If you have a chance, ask Carlos how was the name of the restaurant came about, great story) Enrique

If we were not walked there by a local we probably would not have found it. Not in the trendy area. But it was well worth it. There are not many restaurants that is open past 7:30 on a Sunday night and we were lucky to hear about this one. An old house where you have a choice of different... More

A few circles around the block and we alas found this tucked away treasure. Candle-lit ambience welcomed us and we were encouraged to choose from many sweet, cozy rooms on multiple floors. The waiter described each dish and steered us to the sampler plate. We also split their famous Chile en Nogatas. This dish was simply heaven. The owner/chef, Carlos,... More

This restaurant is a little out of the way, but very much worth seeking out. The setting is an older house and each room houses a table or two. Look around to see what appeals. The menu is limited and you are probably best putting yourself in the hands of the server (who may well be the owner). The combination... More

No kitschy Mexican ambiance here. This is the real deal to the max. A beautiful old house, filled with beautiful art, artfully prepared and served beautiful food. If I did not know you I would not tell you the address because this gem should be saved as a secret for only your best friends because you are sure to go... More

This small and excellent restaurant is located amidst a typical residential area - if you do not pay attention to house numbers, you'll easily miss it. However, once you find it, you'll never forget: here you will taste one of the best real Jalisco food you can find in Guadalajara, without aching in your pocket.

This place is quite out of the way but it'll be worth your while seeking it out. The building is charming and cosy with various rooms to choose from in which to dine and you're sure to get a warm welcome from your host Carlos. The food and beer we had was delicious and Carlos was great fun to talk... More

Hidden in a candle lit Art Deco house in Guadalajara you will find this nice restaurant with typical food. Welcomed with a little "reservation" card with your surname on it you can choose from the spoken menu. Service & food are great! To put on your "must visit" list ;)
