The restaurant is in the house that belonged to the former US ambassador Dwight Morrow in the 1920's. It was called Casa Mañana by Mrs. Morrow because when she would ask the architect when the house would be ready he would answer her - 'mañana'. Charles Lindbergh would fly to Cuernavaca to visit Anna Morrow at this house. For many... More

This is a nice lunch spot with outdoor seating in an old home/mansion. The setting is very nice. I asked for classic Mexican and my friend brought me here, one of his favorites. Had the mole enchiladas and they were superb. Service was also attentive. THis will be a go to lunch spot when I visit Cuernavaca again.

Found the place walking around the city after it was suggested by a guide. Went in for drinks mid afternoon and wandered around the grounds which had been the weekend home of U.S. Ambassador Morrow in the late 20's. He had arranged funding for the Diego Rivera mural in the Hernan Cortes Palace. We enjoyed the setting and decided to... More

We have learned to be real wary of inland Mexico seafood, but on our second trip La India Bonita's camarones al ajio surpassed all expectations. As the other reviews will confirm: you can't go wrong with comidas tipicas, either. Cuernavaca is full of eateries with enchanting outdoor spaces, but mediocre to middling food. Luckily, this is both a gracious and... More

This is a lovely oasis in a beautiful setting. The service is on the bad side and the food is good but not great. The best things we had here were the tamarind margarita and any of the soups. Also the appetizer empanadas were great. We enjoyed this restaurant for its peaceful setting and a very light dinner. The staff... More

The menu covers the bases, and the preparation is above average. Drinks were delicious. However, the building itself is historic. And the best treat of all is the ballet folklorico, at NO CHARGE, staged every other Saturday afternoon. The dancers are skilled, enthusiastic and put on a one-hour, non-stop exhibition of dances from around the country. There is no other... More

I had two meals at La India Bonita during my stay in Cuernavaca. On each occasion, due to the time of year-post holidays-I was the only person dining there. Being one of the oldest restaurants in town, the place has a wonderful atmosphere, great service, good lighting, colonial décor and a full bar. Personally I enjoyed the music--somewhat cheesy orchestral... More

An easy stroll from anywhere in the heart of Cuernavaca, the interior setting of this restaurant is superb. It's a tranquil beauty, not on a par with Las Mananitas or El Mirador, but quite appealing to be sure. The food is well prepared. But speaking of prepared, be prepared for a long dinner unless you harass the wait staff for... More

We only had one day in Cuernavava and decided to try La India for lunch. Right down the street from the Borda gardens we sat on a covered terrace near the bar and had a nice lunch. The beer was cold and the food was excellent. One of our group is a vegetarian and had a fantastic dish with grilled... More

I had lunch at La India Bonita located in the former home of US Ambassador Dwight Morrow. There is a very pleasant patio and the menu features lots of traditional and very well prepared Mexican dishes. I will return on my next visit.
