One of my favourite restaurants in Cuernavaca is Casa Hidalgo by far, particularly for its location in front of Palacio de Cortés and beside the Zocalo in the main downtown area. The food is very good, Mexican and International cuisine, and the service is just great. The owners play a very important role in keeping it the way it is.

Looks out to the best view in the city of the zocalo. If you sit upstairs on the balcony its like you have the place to yourself. Great food, beautifully presented, well priced, although slightly higher than other places in the area. Great service. Good vegetarian options, the soups are very good and are prepared at your table. We ordered... More

We had been meaning to visit this restaurant, right on the Zocalo and finally made it for lunch. Sat on the patio with a nice view of the Palacio de Cortes and the plaza. Very attentive staff. My wife ordered the trout and I had the set lunch, which was all Thai-inspired in four courses. The dishes were flavorful, with... More

Had dinner here several times during our stay in Cuernavaca. It is centrally located, and reasonably priced. Had great views of the Museo of Cuauhnahuac, and walking distance to Palacio de Cortes.

We were a group of 13 people and we love the food. The service was great and professional. Food was very good and the live jazz music made it over the top.

What an amazing dinner. We sat outside and enjoyed a beautiful evening. Upon being seated they brought a shawl for each woman at the table to keep us warm. The men were offered ponchos and we had a fireplace rolled right up to our table. It wasn't even that cold out! The food was delicious. Everyone in our group of... More

The view of the zocalo, bustling street scene and sturdy "Morelotes" statue from the balcony at Restaurante Casa Hidalgo is worth it by itself. Add a monster margarita and a tasty trucha (trout), plus a gracious waiter (who brought pint-sized margaritas after dinner complements of the house), and you have a memorable dining experience. We also had the whitefish in... More

My friends and I spotted Casa Hidalgo which sits on the south side of the main plaza and opposite Cortez' Palace on a mid day stroll. It looked inviting and when we went back for dinner we were not disappointed. I was impressed by the venue, a pleasant blend of modern and traditional, outdoor seating on the first floor terrace... We had a late lunch here at one of the upper floor balcony tables. The view of Palacio de Cortes and part of the Zocolo is superb. We were lucky it didn't rain too much as the balcony covers don't provide that much shelter! The margaritas were absolutely great as was the food. We had the plate of mixed Mexican... More

The tamarindo margaritas are great! and the food was delicious we had a plate to share with different food, a corn soup with huitlacoche and many more things...everything was great. We took a friend one night and the same friend and another friend another night and all of them love it! & the service is outstanding.
