Probably the best recognized hotel in town, settled in a former Barbara Hutton's mansion surrounded by green areas. Feels like you traveled to Japan in a second. Just beautiful

The quality of the food is decent, not bad but nothing to write home about. However the service is painfully slow, some of us were on our second course while others were still waiting on their first one. Some dishes were cold and didn't arrive when expected (eg. My soup got to the table AFTER my main course). All of... More

We had a lunch and a dinner at the place. The location is great, the service excellent, the selection and quality of the dishes is very good. Both experiences were awesome. I was most impressed by the very reasonably priced sake selection.

This place was adapted from a private residence into a hotel. Its main restaurant is Sumiya, and it is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been at. The building is a traditional Japanese construction, surrounded by breath-taking gardens, the food is delicious, and the service is outstanding. This is a MUST while at Cuernavaca, and I think that’s all... More

If you visit Sumiya during the day, prepare yourself for a quick visit to Tokyo, Japan. Sumiya is an enchanting Japanese Palace with lush gardens, ponds,, creeks and fountains. In the morning you can choose from having breakfast at the Buffet or at the Brunch area. I recomend the second option. Inside a Japanese house with great views of the... More

We had lunch in the Sumiya restaurant. I think it is fair to say that it is not good value for money. We paid a bill of $130 US dollars for four people and didn't even have wine, every dinner had only one course and only one of us ordered a sweet. We were not particularly full at the end... More

Our family took us to Sumiya for a most elegant and delicious breakfast buffet. After eating we strolled the grounds and we were captivated by the beauty of this place. We also took a tour of the Kubuki Theater and were amazed at how detailed and perfect everything seemed, not to mention the serene meditation garden. I enjoyed every second... More

The restaurant is inside the Sumiya hotel, it's tricky to get there but the food and the atmosphere is incredible. The Sumiya hotel itself is a beautiful piece out of a samurai movie, there is an incredible calm all around it.
