Fun!

We went here for lunch one day. You have to look to find it. It's a bit hidden in the mangroves just off the beach. It's shady, cooler than the beach, and it has nice food. I had a shrimp stuffed avocado that was lovely. The best part was the show that the iguanas put on for us. It was... read more

The food was cold when served. Menu items were not available but we were not told this for 15 minutes after we ordered.

We have been visiting Zihua for years and have walked by El Manglar many times without trying it. We had dinner there this week and had an excellent meal. I had the 27 spice tuna and my husband had the mahi mahi with lime sauce. Both were prepared creatively and cooked to perfection. Wines by the glass are reasonable. Service... More

Kind of an ugly old sign, from the beach, but a great lil resturant. Just cross the bridge, and wow, what a nice spot in the mangroves. The food is excellent.

Walking down the beach we would never have stopped if hotel had not specifically suggested for kids so we walked in. Grand daughter had a ball looking at alligators, all sizes of iguanas and resident cat! But the surprise was the food! It was terrific and less expensive than most of competing beach front restaurants. Under the trees it was... More

We dined here on a sunday evening with about 3 other tables ( 11 large tables total). Right on the beach but you can also access via the road way. We didn't see the crocodile or iguanas this evening but that's ok. The Tuna with pecan and coconut sauce had avocado and shrimp bits in it and the veggies tender... More

The reasons this spot is popular with expats and visitors are obvious: the food is great, the drinks are excellent, the prices are reasonable, the setting is interesting and relaxing, and the people are friendly. We enjoyed a couple of great meals for 3 with drinks for less than $40 -- along with a "floor show" the night one of... More

If you're staying on Playa La Ropa you've got to go here for lunch. The food is great, the owner and staff are mucho friendly and the crocodile has had a big breakfast. If he's not around the iguanas will entertain you. Dinner's great too although not as exciting as lunch. Tick tock, tick tock.

Decided to try lunch here. Crossing over a lagoon from the beach via a small bridge you find a lovely palapa with tile floor. Good selection of lots of different menu items. We ordered the fried calamari and fish ceviche. The waiter asked if we wanted it made with coctail sauce or natural (cooked in lime) We ordered the natural.... More

We stopped by this restaurant for a drink and had a fun time watching them feed the crocodiles. When the crocs were full we watched the iguanas in the trees. This was a great place for a drink while walking Playa La Ropa.
