Even though this restaurant is on the beach, it is quite shady and sheltered by trees. There are birds, iguanas, and even crocodiles in the inlet. Don't worry--the crocs stay in the water. It is such a pleasant and interesting environment. The food is really tasty, especially seafood. The price is moderate for Zihuatanejo. The service is really great. The... More

Varied menu . Fresh fish, salads as well as pasta dishes were excellent. Friendly service. We ate there several times.

We've been enjoying El Manglar restaurant for years, and it is one of our favorite eating spots on La Ropa beach. It's right next to the estero (estuary) near the southern end of La Ropa and the end of the La Ropa bus line. Look for the wooden bridge to access the restaurant from the beach, or drive into the... I walked to the end of La Ropa Beach to check out the crocodiles that live in the estuary and stumbled upon El Manglar. I had a wonderful lunch of teritas (fish ceviche), grilled fish, and chocolate crepes for dessert. The meal was delicious but I equally enjoyed the "entertainment" while eating. The restaurant is just off the beach, nestled... More

As a tradition my husband and I always eat at El Manglar on our first evening in Zihuatanejo. The Fish Roll and Mai Mai in Lime sauce are probably our favorite items on the menu.

If you stay I Zihua you have to try the 27 spice tuna at El Manglar. It is one of th best things I had during my stay. The interesting thing is that there are crocodiles probably 25 yards from where you're eating. If you walk down playa del ropa it is near the south end towards Las Gatos. Hope... More

We had a great lunch here with friends. Got off the beach and out of the sun and kicked back for the afternoon. I second the other review that said the fish was "screaming" fresh.

We went here on a recommendation from one of the locals. He said that his family goes all the time and that they love it. So of course we had to try it. It is located on Playa La Ropa, near the crocodile reserve. You have to walk up a short boardwalk. When you get there, the decor is very... More

Reached from the beach by a wooden walkway across a swamp !!! The sign is correct there are crocs in there. Service was prompt and seafood the freshest bar none . If you find yourself on LA Ropa Beach this reasturant is a must try !!!! Portions are generous and well priced.

Its an ok spot on the beach. The food is quite acceptable and the ambiance is well,.... Plastic patio furniture, but who cares because you're on a beach and looking for decent fish, authentic Mexican food and cold beer. So this is a good place for that. The grilled fish was fresh and simply prepared, the tuna steak was done... More
