We are a family business for over 20 years we were located within the Airport Zihuatanejo, the business was called "Snack Bar - El Mirador"; but in 2008 we decided to leave the anonymity and moved to town with a new "Carmelite Cafe" concept. The mission of Carmen and Don Jesus was always clear, offer our customers the best dining experience in Zihuatanejo. During these years we have been aware of the importance of treating our guests like family. We pride ourselves everyday to trust Cafe Carmelites to treat at home; therefore, we insist that the recipes of Mrs. Carmelita, always keep the flavor of the Mexican family kitchen. We will always have an eye to providing the best quality in each of our dishes; leaving aside, a friendly smile and a humble to serve our customers heart. We cook for you like for our own home, without shortcuts, no frills, with love.

Greatest little cafe in Zihuatanejo.

If you want a great meal and real Mexican charm, you have to try this place. Family run, and a staff that really works well with English. They make Tortillas fresh as you watch. I have seen people steal them of the griddle. The menu is to die for. I can't say enough.

A little tricky to find but well worth the look. Family owned and operated restaurant. They pay great attention to every detail, food, service, and atmosphere. We had fresh squeezed juices and the fruit plate to begin. My breakfast was delicious! The best breakfast in Zihua!

We have been here for breakfast and for dinner. We were warmly welcomed by Carmelita's daughter who explained everything about the menus and service. The place is so open and refreshing and tastefully decorated. Everything that is Mexican is here. They have just started serving dinner, Thursday to Saturday and have an energetic and authentic dance group who performs at... More

Our pulpo was chewing and way over cooked. The arrechero was tough and had grisles. Inexcusable. Our of the poorest meals we have had in a month here. Maurice and service was very good. The chef needs to take lessons from the owner of El Eraayan

Excellent sopes! We had lunch at Carmelita's. Wish I could remember what my friends ordered, but they were very happy with it and prices are very reasonable. They just started opening for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays.

After excellent reviews and several recommendations from local friends we brought our parents for brunch. From the comfortable tables and chairs to the meal, you can only expect the best. Great quality food, variety in the menu and personalized service. We liked the brunch so much that when we were told the restaurant now serves dinner and they gave us... More

If you ask anyone in town for restaurant recommendations, they will without a doubt send you to Carmelita's. This is my favorite breakfast/lunch spot. I could eat their aporreadillo and agua fresca de pina every morning. Everything on the menu is delicious. The staff are friendly, professional and always smiling. The space is clean and surrounded by gardens. they just... More

This place is outdoors but covered. Very clean and the staff is super friendly. The first time we went, Anayanci waited on us. She recommended the Machaca de pescado and chilequiles (probably butchered the spelling). My husband and I enjoyed that breakfast so much that this became our go-to place. After eating here, we didn't eat breakfast anywhere else our... More
