Owner/chef Israel Salazar continues to explore and expand the culinary options in Zihuatanejo. Using only first quality ingredients, he creates special dishes that are available nowhere else in town. Israel is widely known for his Thai creations, but he lavishes the same attention and care on his Mexican and Italian offerings. His attentive, bi-lingual floor staff, amazing food, and full bar will make any evening at El Murmullo one to remember.

Surprisingly good Thai food in Mexico. No, I'm not kidding.

Well, that was a surprisingly good find. There's lots of great food in Mexico, but I was seriously skeptical of the couple Thai items on the menu here, nestled among more standard Mexican fare. Have eaten here before for a change of pace and it was adequate. Went with a party of six last week and everyone was unhappy with the food and the service. We felt rushed to order (asked every two minutes at least six times if we were ready) each and every entree was bland and forgettable . As the plates... More

We've eaten at Murmillo a dozen times between last year & this, brought here initially by a recommendation from our favorite silversmith, Israel's brother, Eric (La Garcia - for wonderful jewelry). We have never been disappointed! Every vegetable is fresh & crunchy, shrimp stir fry to die for. Offerings of pasta, fresh fish (tuna sashimi or steaks at this time... More

If you are looking for a wonderful place to eat that is reasonably priced, has excellent food and service, then you must try El Murmullo. Chef/owner Israel is a wonderful man and his staff, superb. Oscar is a wonderful host and makes fabulous drinks. Israel's breadth of culinary knowledge enables him to create wonderful dishes from around the world. This... More

When you find a restaurant that is as good as this one, you have to share it. The food was original and outstanding, the service by Oscar and Armando beyond good. The ambiance was magical. One of those places we will remember and talk about until we can visit it again. If you want to experience the magic of Zia... More

Hidden off the Zihua's main thoroughfares Il Murmullo is indeed a hidden gem. Don't let the location dissuade you, it's only a 2 minute walk from the basketball court, and less than a block from Coconuts. We tried Il Murmullo twice last year, and we're eager on this visit to see if it retained its excellent food and eclectic menu.... More

One doesn't normally expect to go for Thai food in Mexico. The food at El Murmullo was a pleasant surprise. Six of us went for dinner; we had the Pad Thai, Thai stirfries & a green curry. All was tasty and well prepared. My stir fry was fresh tasting, hot, with a decent amount of shrimp. The only complaint was... More

El Murmullo is off the main drag but what a great find!!! Food is wonderful, drinks are great, and the service couldn't be better. Both David and Oscar made the evening special. I highly recommend this restaurant! We had a table of four and we all ordered a different entree. All were very pleased with their meal.
