Description: Owner/chef Israel Salazar continues to explore and expand the culinary options in Zihuatanejo. Using only first quality ingredients, he creates special dishes that are available nowhere else in town. Israel is widely known for his Thai creations, but he lavishes the same attention and care on his Mexican and Italian offerings. Our experience here has been consistently outstanding. We have eaten here twice this year already. The staff is wonderful: warm, welcoming, engaging. Israel, the owner-chef, runs a tight kitchen. He uses the freshest ingredients and offers specials when available (example, he had beautiful tuna steaks this week, which have been in short supply as the tuna have been so far... More

The ideal when you return to a place yearly is the hope that the restaurants you've enjoyed the year before maintain the same quality. Often this is not so and in the case of this restaurant definitely not so. The spinach salad was just so-so with very tough spinach. The shrimp Pernod was a very small portion of shrimp overcooked... We visit for the Thai food. The shrimp Thai stir fry is so yummy. You can adjust the heat upon ordering. David is our waiter every time and he is efficient and entertaining.

Our first visit after 5 years here. Has joined our top 6, with La Terracita, Agave. Lety's and El Arrayan. Since our Vancouver home is a Thai food paradise, we have never ordered Thai in Mexico. El Murmullo would be competitive on our 4th Avenue restaurant strip. Will bring our friends

After hearing good things about the food at El Murmullo I decided to give it a second try after a mediocre dinner two years ago. It certainly wasn't any better. If anything the service was worse. I felt it was overpriced for the quality of the food, which wasn't bad, but wasn't anywhere near what you might call delicious. $100... More

We were not impressed with the food at all. The service was accommodating and the location is in the heart of downtown. Our table was on the street and we had a constant stream of local vendors presenting their wares.Disappointing after the rave reviews we had read.

We have been to El Murmullo many times over the years and it never disappoints. The prices are very reasonable including the drinks. Isreal, the owner, know how to cook Italian food but surprisingly has great Thai dishes on the menu. It is a small place with a very small kitchen but succeeds better than fancier or more expensive restaurants.

An amazing cook. He works with frish fish caught in the morning and his meats are of the same caliber. His dishes are among the best if not the best in town. If you want a night out in town and a dinner that can't be beat plan on eating there.

Israel is the owner and chef of this charming little restaurant. The food is outstanding and the service is warm and friendly. I love to visit locally owned restaurants and this one hits it out of the park. Everything I've had is amazing but I love the curry.

Had dinner here due to wanting a break from Mexican one evening. The place was bustling on a Thursday night with mainly tourists. The server was energetic and very friendly, and the dishes were not bad, although more 'Asian' in flavor than authentically Thai. Would give it another try for atmosphere and service.
