Description: A lot of places claim to be for the "locals" but this place actually is where they eat. The name means "crazy potato" in English and that is their speciality. Huge baked potato's filled with buttter, sour cream, cheese and then a variety of meats. Their tacos al pastor and pico de gallo are the best I've ever tasted. Nothing on the menu is more than $50 peso's or about $4usd. Very popular spot with the locals and tourist's that want to experience authentic Mexican food..

This one of the great experiences in Zihau. Great staff, a unique Mexican location. Man do you see them prepare your food!! Yes you are right next to the grill, great options with the crazy potato, my favorite is the Mexicali. The taste is out of this world. great authentic location, COLD beer, good service and extremely affordable. A must... More

As advertised. A local spot that does a number of variations of basic potato as well as al pastor. The flattop cooks operate like a well oiled machine stuffing each order with combinations of beef, pork, chicken, cheese, cactus. butter and more. The al pastor is good although I prefer a spot downtown. This place is basically serving street food... More

Great potatoes, great prices, great people. Mapquest had us a bit turned around and this is off the tourist path, but the more authentic, the better for us.

Thanks to all the TA experts on this site, we tried out Papa Loca tonight. Their potatoes are indeed delicious. The three of us each had a "especial" papa loca with cheese, pineapple, al pastor which the potato was so creamy it melted in our mouths. It was a good size and lots of toppings. We also shared one order... More

Their namesake potato is a baked potato, removed from the skin, placed on foil then soaked in butter and sour cream. To this they add cheese and a variety of meats. I had the Especial which had Pastor, port, and beef and blew my mind. I was skeptical about having a baked potato in the October Zihuatanejo heat, but I'm... More

You have to go try their baked potatoes. I've been coming to Zihua for many years and never had anything like it. Stuffed with sour cream, cheese, tomatoes, bacon and shrimp, mine was heavenly! We did the tacos also, another great item!! Extremely authentic, don't expect much help in English, but you can figure it out with just poco de... More

For an inexpensive, yet filling meal - this is your place! Giant baked potatoes are what they're known for, but everything else is yummy too! Our friend always orders himself a quart of the juice made from flowers. The potatoes are loaded with your choice of fillings and are under $5!

Not a tourist destination, but really good stuffed potatoes. Can get tacos there too. Don't expect a fancy place as this is just on a busy street, but worth going. Doesn't open til 5pm.
