Gula had the finest vegetarian dishes I experienced in Zihua. There is a beet ravioli dish that is out of this world, as well as a gnocchi dish. Salad choices include a grilled veggie salad with cheese, which was wonderful. Gula is also very pretty, situated on the 2nd floor overlooking the clabellina tree which has the most amazing (outer... We absolutely love this restaurant! Went on a Sunday night and was so disappointed that they were closed but we were able to visit on Tuesday and had a scrumptious meal as always. Service is always outstanding, our favorite meals are always the same, delicious!

We ate a lot of meals during our 10 days in Zih, at many restaurants along this street. You walk up a stairway, and sit outside overlooking the street. We enjoyed the meal, a very interesting menu, but there were many other restaurants we enjoyed more. I do not think one would be disappointed with a meal here.

We had the good fortune to win a raffle for dinner at La Gula and chose last night to experience it. And what a WONDERFUL experience it was! the ambiance was relaxed but not neglectful..the waiter was attentive and unobtrusive and spoke perfect English. The FOOD was exquisite....we had the enpanadas criollas for an appetizer, ensalada del palma, capricha de... More

Advertised as slow cooking but I would describe it as relaxed and unrushed. If you want to eat fast, go to McDonalds. We ate dinner several times this year. All selections were well prepared and the service was excellent. Very accessable for those staying near Madera Beach. Reasonably priced for the excellent quality of food.

I usually only review places I feel are excellent. But this restaurant is guilty of false advertising. Slow cooking is usually food cooked under low heat for a long amount of time. When I hear the constant ring of the microwave, I am suspicious. The amuse reminded me of Pepperidge Farms tortelloni and was undercooked. The eggplant stuffed with bolognese... More

The restaurant is situated on the second floor by way of a somewhat tight staircase on Calle Adelita. The kitchen is very open and it is easy to see the chefs from the tables. The menu is short but the ingredients are high quality as is the presentation. My wife and I shared the Caprichio de la Tierra for a... More

Limited menu but wonderfully prepared. All meals prepared to order so be prepared to wait a while. It will be worth it.

Creative home-made food. Every ingredient is fresh and of the highest quality. I consider it the best place for dinner in Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo

This restaurant boasts SLOW FOOD.The first dissapointment was the amuse. They need not bother serving out two dime sized tortellini in basil oil if it's not fresh. We then listened to the sound of the microwave heating our appetizer. It's an open kitchen , we were the only two customers in the place. Then dinner was a blackened Mahi steak, floating... More
