We thought it looked charming, but then we were hustled on the street to eat there. We got in to the restaurant and suddenly no one was paying attention. When my husband ordered a margarita, they brought him agave wine with lime. When we protested they brought a real margarita with tequila but by then we were unhappy. The food... More

Three visits...one decent meal. The location in the Madera neighborhood is great and the atmosphere is nice with lots of plants and bougainvillea. We found the quality of our meals were inconsistent...ranging from decent to downward. With so many great restaurants in Zihuatanejo, one can do better than Casa Vieja.

This restaurant was nice but the food was nothing special. The menu said it was tenderloin but it was actually a flank steak, big difference. It is on the way to La Ropa beach on a side street so it is difficult to find. Wasn't impressed. Only other people in there were Americans and we try to go where the... More

Wish we would have found this place sooner. We were invited to this restaurant by Ray, who is a waiter here. The restaurant is off the beaten path and is beautiful. I ordered the ribs and my husband had a chicken dish with melted cheese on top. Both dishes were amazing. We tried ribs at three other locations and these... More

This restaurant is the real deal in traditional Mexican fare prepared in the most delicious way. The food is a pleasant introduction to native fare that appeals to anyone who loves good food. The service is very friendly....and the host is quite proud when he sees the smiles on the faces of the diners. Casual to dressy, it's an enjoyable... More

We loved this place, great live music, a wonderful atmosphere and beautiful setting. We had the Pozole on Thursday - our first time - and it was magnificent. It was my husband's favourite meal of the trip!

My wife and I had dinner here a week ago. It was a nice place but a bit on the expensive side compared to some other local restaurants. I had a seafood dish but it has a much stronger tomato base then the menu described. Our table was also six inches higher then the other tables, not sure why. The... More

During our vacation in Zihua, we dined here based on a recommendation. It was the only restaurant where we felt rushed (although restaurant was less than half full), and the only place where the waiter brought the check (la cuenta) before we had asked for it. Compared to the quality of food around the corner at any of the restaurants... More

Authentic food at a reasonable price. You will not be disappointed or go away hungry. We never miss this Sunday buffett.
