I would agree with all the nice things others have said here about Monica, her food and this humble establishment. I ate breakfast here many times, enjoyed dinner at her husband RUFO's at the same location at night, but it was her cooking school out back which has had the greatest impact. Not fancy but authentic, informative and from the... More

Having Monica greet you and lead you to her "school" was the perfect combination of local ambiance, amazing food and culinary tips we will take back home with us. She had us at "hola." With her daughter, Jimina, she puts on family run show that epitomizes the food and culture of Zihuatanejo. We had a group of 6 who were... More

Just a short walk from our Hotel, Irma, the location is great. Lush plants along the patio edge, you forget you're outdoors. We enjoyed a guitar player one night and piano playing the next. We tried the ribs and the Camerones were delicious, too. A must for our next visit.

Monica is a delight, and teaches you to make Mexican food in her back yard essentially! There were about 8 of us - and she demo'd (and had us help 'hands-on') chiles rellanos, beans and tortillas. Just stop by the restaurant to sign up. 350 pesos each.

This was the perfect cooking school for my husband and I will we were vacationing in Zihua. Monica the owner/instructor is very laid back and friendly. She took us to the farmer's market where we sampled fruits and learned about local herbs, cheeses and fish. We brought back our farmer's market goods and made green and red salasa, charos beans,... We went at night last night to Rufo's and thank you to the previous reviewer who said she asked them to make chicken fajitas for her - soooooo good! My husband had the pork ribs - delicious sauce, melt-in-your-mouth meat. We loved all of the salsas and chiles on the side and there was live music playing which was of... More

This place was very close to the Hotel Irma where we stayed. It's a great little spot, surrounded by plants and art. They have a grill and we shared ribs, which were outstanding.

The setting was nice as you're outdoors in a lovely section of town and the food was delicious. They served a nice selection of side dishes with the main course. Fish with garlic was terrific.

After my wife had taken a cooking class offered by the owner, we decided to eat here. We were not disappointed. The open air restaurant is comfortable. I had the rib eye steak that was prepared on a grill in the open-air kitchen. It was perfect. My wife was equally pleased with her dish. We recommend the Patio Mexica. If... More

My boyfriend and I have had breakfast and lunch here almost everyday. This is by far some of the best Mexican food I've ever had, sorry mom (my parents were both born in Mexico and owned a Mexican restaurant for years). Prices are very reasonable and the service was great. Short walk from where we were staying at Brisas Del... More
