We walked down Playa Blanca on a beautiful sunny day to Cabanas Chula Vida - where we were welcomed and invited to relax. Hammocks in the shade, a shower to rinse off sand or surf and the most amazing food. The menu is limited because they works with what is fresh that day - we had the wood fired dorado... More

We were served amazing food every time we ate here. The owner cooks over a wood fired grill and serves whatever has been freshly caught that day. We were welcomed and given personalized service whenever we ate here. The atmosphere was relaxed but we were eating food that was five star!!

Play Blanca, about 3-4 from the Zihua Airport (10-15 minutes); the paved road turns into a dirt road; this place is just past the Escondite We found the paradise of paradises; the one in the Shawshank Redemption Two eating sections; one is under a ramada on the beach where there is a perfect cool breeze The beach is clean and... Cabana Chula Vida is on one of the nicest beaches we've ever seen - a long, sandy beach with a nice surf and beautiful sunsets. The hostess at our lodging recommended Cabana Chula Vida and we were very pleased with the dinner, service and setting. The specialty is fish cooked on a wood-fire grill. We both had dorado, grilled and... More

Ended up having dinner there 3 times over a one week period. Excellent prepared seafood over a charcoal / mesquite grill. The dorado and tuna were done perfectly. Excellent mango salsa with dish. On Wednesday during the season there is a sushi chef preparing a number of very tasty choices

We spent the day with a our tour guide Juan Carlos Garcia and he brought us to the wonderful little restaurant on playa Blanca. It was one of the best lunches I've had since we have been coming down to Zihu. The owners were very welcoming and explained the menu in detail. They were even ready to substitute chicken for... We have just returned from Zihuatanejo where we had some of our best meals ever at Chula Vida. En route to Barra de Potosi, this restaurant is worth the drive by car or cab to spend the day or evening or even both! Jorge and Lisette and their staff run a wonderful, welcoming restaurant. Jorge cooks some of the best... More

Run, walk or simply take a cab to Chula Vida, the wonderful restaurant run by Jorge and Lisette. They, and their staff, are warm and welcoming - along with Emma and Curly the dogs! The food is simply amazing - fish often caught just that morning is cooked to perfection by Jorge. The beach in front of the restaurant is... More

We were wandering along the beach from Barra de Potosi and beginning to regret not stopping for lunch before we began when we came across Chula Vida. The food was wonderful, the drinks were cold, there were hammocks in the shade to laze around in, and Lisa was extremely friendly and helpful. She even offered us a ride to the... More

we were in Zihuat in december 2010 and we met Jorge who owns Chula Vida and he is an awesome person. All around great guy and his restaurant is above and beyond all the others we have tried in that area. The restaurant is put together very nicely and two things that I loved were the shrimp tacos and also... More
