Kau Kan is a long established and solid restaurant that may be a bit past it's prime. The dining room is a bit dated and the view does not seem as elegant and vibrant as it was during our last visit some ten years before. The food and service remains solid, though nothing really excites, though the wine list is... More

We wound up at Kau Kan as a fallback after being unable to go to our first choice, but we wound up happy. At first we were very surprised and a little apprehensive to find we were the only diners in the restaurant. Alfonso, our waiter, explained that the season was winding down. Many times in that situation the staff... More

This may have been the most perfect fine-dining experience I've ever had. The views from this place are incredible, the service was exemplary, and the food was delicious and plentiful. Highly Recommended!!!

Great view. Not expensive. Taxi stand next door, easy to get to. We have been to zihua annually for 6 years and missed going here. It's worth it. Have the potato stuffed with lobster and shrimp

After having eaten here over ten times (since 2000) I hate to have to say this place is a waste of time and money. Three years ago, we had our first bad meal, but I put that up to an off night … so in early March, 2014, we gave it another try. This meal was the nail in the... More

Way better view than Villa del Selva in Ixtapa. A must do at sunset. Playa la Ropa is amazing and Kau Kan offers an excellent view of all the beaches in the bay. The waiters bent over backwards to make sure you were enjoying the meal. The food was really tasty but a bit pricey for what you got. It... More

Great view of the city and good food, but I hate eating in the dark! Holding a flashlight to admire the osso bucco is not part of a great dining experience. It doesn't have to be blinding like, bur three little votives just doesn't make it.The service was adequate, but given that there were only three waiting on the entire... More

Could have stayed there all night the view was to die for, sitting outside on the terrace. Food was good, service was good. I would go back just for the setting. Only bad thing we were rushed out because they wanted to close and it was not very late.

The service: Incredibly slow and imprecise, some food came others did not, silverware was taken and not replaced. The result was if the food actually came there were no tools to eat it. We had to clear finished plates ourselves The food: Bland, not cooked well, generally not appetizing. The Osso Bucco was not cooked long enough to render the... More

We had dinner last night at Kau Kan because of its impressive views. Thats about all thats worth the while in this restaurant. Among the dishes ordered I tasted the bean soup with chipotle, the mahi mahi carpacccio, the tomato soup, the osso bucco, and the seafood pasta. Not one of them was very good, most of them underseasoned and... More
