My husband and I went with another couple one evening for drinks on the beach. It was 9:30 in the evening and there were only 4 tables dining. We had to flag down the hostess to get a table on the beach. We each had 2 drinks. Each time we had to ask for a waiter, had to ask for... more

Sitting on the beach as part of a high rise hotel, we expected tourist food and were pleasantly surprised to find creative, artistically presented and very tasty food. The tortilla soup will make it impossible to eat it at local restaurants in San Francisco ever again. Duck confit tostada was an appetizer you would expect to see on Iron Chef.... more

Just back from here and miss it. Our first meal was here for a delicious breakfast and beautiful view. Reasonable, great coffee and hearty fresh breakfast. more

Was here in January '09 for breakfast and came back twice. The location on the beach was just perfect - perfectly lovely. The service was attentive. And, the food was amazing. I had Chilaquiles and Huevos Rancheros and both were incredible. I can't wait to visit again. more

The beach side dining and views are awesome. The food is pretty good, service was attentive. Prices were probably what you would expect for the beach, however 100 pesos for a small bottle of water is ridiculous! more

My wife and I dined at La Palapa on the recommendation of Puerto vallarta's tourism organization. They couldn't have been more rigt. The setting is absolutely gorgeous. We knew we were in for a special evening when we had drinks while watching the pelicans dive for their dinner. We enjoyed La Palapa's seasfood as much as the birds did theirs.... more

The atmosphere of the restaurant as well as the presentation of the food was impressive. However, I became violently ill after eating there and was sick for close to a week (including the six hour flight back home). They refused to refund my money... more

We only came here for brunch, but we came twice and it was really amazing. The food is great, we tried the smoothies (so good and cheap!) the chilaquiles, breakfast burrito and crepes, all amazing. Everything is presented beautifully like an artistic meal. The breakfast is very cheap, with tip and tax it was like $17!! The view is gorgeous,... more

My wife and I like this place a lot and have been eating there for years. I was in PV alone in July, ate the mussels and was sick before I finished my main course. more

My husband and I celebrated my 30th birthday in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and I had read many reviews of restaurants and decided on La Palapa for my birthday dinner celebration. We booked ahead of time online and I received a personalized email confirmation. Our experience at La Palapa was definitely a great one. The meal itself was very good and... more
