This was such a fun experience. They specialize in regional Mexican dishes- with the twist that many dishes were served by Diego and Frieda at their wedding. So fun! We arrived early for our reservation, so they took us to the back bar for sangrias. The service stayed impeccable throughout the course of the evening. The decor is quirky, interesting,... More

We've eaten at Red Cabbage three times, and the food has always been good. It's traditional Mexican, served by a professional staff. The restaurant is located off the normal tourist area, and though it certainly caters to tourists it feels more unique. We especially enjoy the artsy vibe, focusing on Frida Kahlo.

This was one of our best meals in Mexico for the week we were there. Alex from the Rivera del Rio B&B recommended we go here for dinner and he knows what he's talking about - wonderful dinner. As other reviewers stated, it's a little out of the way but well worth the trip. Service was fantastic, the food was... More

Red Cabbage came as a recommendation from a friend. I believe that it has relocated since his recommendation, but we found it. It is located away from the malecon near the river that flows down to the bay...but you won't see much of it. The taxi dropped us at the front door, we were greeted (informally) by a young girl,... We enjoyed the artistic decor, good service and tasty Mexican cuisine. The peanut soup and flan were delicious. A little off the beaten track, this restaurant was highly recommended by the hosts of our B&B.

Cute artsy décor. I had the Pork in green sauce, Hubby had the Mole. We both couldn't get enough. Drinks good too. If I went back I'd get the same dish. Seasoned perfectly. Very reasonable as well.

Loved being in a Mexican neighborhood away from the beach. WE had two kinds of stuffed chiles, both excellent. Probably our best meal in Puerto Vallarta!

Funky and fun with authentic Mexican food. About a kilometer from Olas Altos but easy to walk, this hidden spot pays homage to Frida and Diego in both decor and menu. Best mole I have eaten. Cream of peanut soup was highlight.

I enjoy the American-familiar Mexican food that's readily available throughout PV. So many restaurants are reassuringly clean with descent food very accessible to my Anglo pallet. But, after a few days of one satisfying, but cleaned-up, Mexican meal after another I start wanting something, well... more Mexican. That's when we book into the Red Cabbage. The restaurant's location, look, and... More
