After all the reviews we thought we have to go. Food quality OK - not impressive. Designed for Gringos that cannot survive in a different culture. Better food at much less money can be purchased from the road side vendors. Drinks overpriced just capped off a dissapointing experience more
Writing to strongly encourage all visitors to Puerto Vallarta to check out Joe Jack's in Old Town. The place features an excellent, warm, and friendly staff...the best bartender, hands down in PV (love ya, Tony!)...top-notch food (try the mildly spicy seafood chowder or the generous buckets of super-fresh peel and eat shrimp, even the burger and fries when you start... more
Met some folks on the street, and we were discussing restaurants. They said that they just loved the Fish & Chips at Joe Jacks. I gave it a try and was not disappointing.-- Best I ever had too! more

The fried fish as some of the best I've ever had. Extra crispy crust along with fresh fish caught that day made this dish a winner. After reading many positive reviews we were expecting a great experience. Instead, we has so-so margaritas to the sound of country western music played too loudly; so much for creating a nice dinner atmosphere for visitors on vacation in Mexico. Always busy, even in this economy. Great food and honest prices. I go back at least a couple of times each trip. Go early, it fills up. more
Unfortunately, only discover this place 2 days before our vacation was over, but it was SO it. Definitely recommend Joe Jacks Fish Shack to any visiting PV.
