Mexican Restaurant the locals go to

Stayed, in PV for a week and ate here with a large group of friends. The food, drinks and service were all very good. I met a local resident of PV and asked him to go to lunch and told him to choose the restaurant. He chose El Brujo out of all the restaurants in PV! He had Shrimp and... read more

My wife and I ran into El Brujo while walking toward town one evening, glad we did. The margarita was one of the best I've had while in Vallarta. We both only ordered appetizers and I'm glad that was all because they were quite large. I had the seafood ceviche which was enough for four people. It was loaded with... More

I love this kind of place. You walk in and see it is local. The waiters greet you and are friendly. We started out with two for one margaritas. They did not skimp on the tequila ! Appetizers and entrees were tastey flank steak gets kudos. Fish was fantastic. Ended with ice cream to die for. It was like eating... More

We have been coming to PV for 35 years and this remains as our favorite restaurant. I order a strawberry daiquiri to start-also the best in town- then I order the chicken romero with the stuffed potato. Soooooo good, always some left over for the next day.My husband gets the fish cooked with butter and garlic, also very good. Don't... More

We've been going to Brujo for many years, often more than once per trip, food has always been good. The service can be a little slow at times, especially when there are big groups there, they seem to take presidence over everyone else. The stuffed fish dishes are all excellent, but bring an appetite. Popular place, be prepared to wait,... More

We are staying in the Romantic Zone, an easy walk to this wonderful neighborhood find. El Brujo obviously has a following of gringo locals who love it -- it can be hard to get a seat. The atmosphere is open air, tropical and fun. The wait staff was very attentive to our every need and the food exceeded our expectations... More

Heard from a friend that this place was great and it was. I had the shrimp and octopus in garlic and butter and it was delicious. Husband had the same dish but prepared spicy and he loved his too. Margaritas were quite good as well.

You have to take the tunnel bus just past the second tunnel to enjoy the delicious food and good service at this restaurant. Or u can walk up hill from the Malecon. It is better to take the bus and then walk downhill to the Malecon on a full stomach. We ordered a steak meal. My husband and I shared.... More

We have dined at El Brujo multiple times over the last 3 years and other than our first visit in 2013, we have found the wait staff to be not courteous nor attentive. When you request something, it is as if they don't want to be bothered. So much so, that last night at dinner the waiter kept walking away... More

First dinner stop in PV. Based on a recommendation from an internet based travel advisory we went with friends and had a marvelous meal. This restaurant should rank higher in the PV ratings on 721 +/- restaurants to choose from. Kind of out of the way from the main drag of eateries that abound in the Zona Romantica but worth... More
