Cuale Paradise is one of the hidden treasures of Puerto Vallarta. Located on the Cuale River in the Paso Anchoa colonia, it is a bit out of the way to get to but worth the effort. This family owned restaurant serves up delicious Mexican fare with a focus on seafood. A signature dish, "Olimpia's Special", is a heavenly blend of... More

If you are looking for a beautiful and romantic place near the river look no further. This is no fancy place but the Mexican food here is very good , prepared lovingly by a Mexican family. Upon arrival we were greeted like a family member and escorted to an outdoor table. If you are lucky you will meet Luis, a... More

We went there for lunch. The atmosphere is very nice. The service was ok too at first. I ordered the Paradise chicken. At first it was ok but the closer I got to the end of the chicken breast I noticed it didn't taste right. After scraping off the cheese I discovered the chicken was raw! Gross!!! I told the... More

Dinner with friends last night was our first time at Cuale Paradise. It was a delightful experience. We ate on the island in the Rio Cuale which is only big enough for a few tables. The atmosphere of a meal in the middle of a beautiful river tumbling through a jungle canyon was unique and exceptionally pleasant. The food we... More

It was delightful to be able to have dinner along the banks of the river. It's worth going just for the setting alone. The margaritas were good. The food was good. The service was really slow even by local standards - took them an hour to take our food order.

We eat out over 300 times a year, and that includes very nice places in NY and SF. The obvious thing that sets this apart from everywhere else is how different it is. You drive about a mile down through a very poor neighborhood and begin to doubt that anything good will follow. You end up on a dirt road... More

Reserve a table on the island surrounded by the River Cuale and let the romance begin---the food, the drink, the family that welcomes you. Nick and Olympia, their kids and their grandkids make this a special, romantic dining experience a little away from the maddening crowd of Old Town.

We went to this restaurant in a large group. The reservations were ready when we got there, the tables were set up right beside the river, we had very excellent service, and very good food. The mexican singers were awesome as well. Spanish flaming coffee for afterwords. The location is a bit out of the way, but the cabbies all... More

It's easy to miss Cuale Paradise -- first, it's well away from the typical tourist destinations, and second it is well off the road with only a small sign advertising it. Based on comments from friends, we finally decided to check it out. We are definitely glad we did. The atmosphere in the restaurant couldn't be better -- sitting along... More
