On the recommendation of a new friend who frequents Puerto Vallarta, we went to Mama Rosa!! In the Zona Romantica on a Sunday evening. From the moment we were greeted, the staff catered to us, explained the dishes on the menu, and anticipated our every need without hovering or needing to ask patronizing questions. The food, however, is why I... More

Hearing about this place from a friend, my husband and I ate here three mornings for their breakfast buffet. They offered chilaquiles, beans, several types of meat, eggs, a variety of vegetables, desserts and delicious drinks (the lemon basil water was so refreshing!). Overall, the food was outstanding and affordable and the service was very friendly. The restaurant is located... More

Went to this place for dinner at the recommendation of some locals. It was outstanding! All four of us thought our entrées were absolutely delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Excellent job by the kitchen staff who you can watch from some tables. We enjoyed the food so much we went back another night and were just as delighted. I... More

We dined at Mama Rosa on our trip over the July 4th holiday. From the first, the owner was very gracious and accommodating. The ambience is very nice and service was great. Both of our meals were very good. We'd recommend Mama Rosa while in Vallarta.

1st mistake-going for breakfast. 2nd mistake-staying. Ordered the Mama Rose special-eggs with ham, fresh fruit, plantains, potatoes. Sure would have been nice to have toast or tortillas to go with breakfast. We were the only couple there. After spraying for mosquitos under the table, we sat. My husband did not sit in the place the waitress intended for him...big mistake!... More

This place does not disappoint. The owner is very accommodating. He took the time to explain to me what was in every dish and why it is unique. The prices are very good for the quality of the food. Able to accommodate a gluten free diet. Very cute cafe with street side seating. There is an open air kitchen when... More

I visited PV with my husband and decided to go to Mama Rosa's for dinner. We sat in their beautiful patio, we had the aguacate relleno de camarones, I had the chile enogada and my husband had the steak with chocolate sauce on top. The food was absolutely delicious. To finish our evening we had the guavas flambé with tequila... More

I have seen several great reviews about Mama Rosa as a breakfast option. It one of the few restaurant disasters I've ever encountered. I wish that there was a rating lower than "1" as an option. On the positive. It appears to be a well maintained restaurant. The gentleman who is either the owner or manager is a pleasant individual.... More

This restaurant was less than a minute walk from my hotel in Vallarta. I have to admit that at first I was a little reluctant in eating here because every time I walked by the restaurant there were very few customers. I think that what did it for me was this female employee who greeted me twice in the morning... More

We were warmly welcomed and greeted at the door. Offered a plate of little appetizers to start free of charge which was a pleasant surprise. The owner pulled up in his car at the door and warmly shook our hands and introduced himself before we ordered. I had chicken stuffed with sausage and vegetables which was quite unique and tasty....
