What an unexpected pleasure!

When I was last in Puerto Vallarta (October 2011 with my husband, my mother and my mother-in-law), it was definitely the low season. A number of restaurants we had visited on earlier trips were closed so one sultry evening, we had a hard time deciding where to go. We decided to try to find... read more

Met some new friends for dinner and had a wonderful and elegant experience. We had delicious sangria that had chopped apples floating in it. We ordered six tapas and it was so much fun to share the different ones.

I ate the most amazing paella and the service was impeccable at this restaurant up the hill overlooking the town. Fantastic!

Really great selection of small plates. Definitely ask for a table on the deck if possible. It's a little expensive (for Mexico anyway, in the US their menu would be moderately priced), but I'd go back again.

Year after year, Barcelona Tapas is excellent. Try the pasta, eggplant, garlic shrimp, spinach, bacon wrapped figs. Argentinian Malbec is great and reasonably price. Dinner for 3 with a bottle of wine and one dessert to share around $130 with tip---great value

The title says it all. Their food is very tasty and their location 4-5 stories high gives a great view of the town and the bay.

This is usually the last place we dine when in PV. Everything's excellent. We start with a pitcher of the best Sangria. They bring a potato salad appetizer on the house. It's great. We always get the Beef Brochette, Sizzling Shrimp & Beets stacked with Goat Cheese. For fun we'll switch up the other tapas into the mix. We've had... More

Up a large hill and up 4 or 5 flights of stairs. But worth the visit. Food is good, not too expensive (tourist prices), they have several offers during the week, e.g., shrimp ½ price on Mondays, good selection of tapas to share (order one or two per person for sharing to start) Check out their website. We had Tuna... More

Based on trip advisor reviews we dined at Barcelona Tapas last evening. Though without the soccarat that typifies true paella, the Valencia style dish we enjoyed was delicious and so plentiful that the serving for two might have fed four. In particular the calamari was tender and favorable - amongst the best we've had. Margaritas with Don Julio were well... More

Set up on one of the residential hills with a lovely view over PV this place is friendly with fine service. Best tapas in PV and, indeed, anywhere. Service is excellent....and the wine list very good. I will return there as do my friends who live in PV on a regular basis.
