Lunch at El Bigotes Restaurant

Any pulmonia can take you downtown to El Bigotes for lunch. The name means The Mustache. They have the very best pork that you will ever eat. It is served with boletos and/or flour or corn tortilla's. Along with all the fixings. You eat outside under the trees. Very cool there and with lots of... read more

We have been visiting this restaurant for years and really hasn't changed. You can order your pork without the fat, which is great. You can get tortas with cheese or plain. Quesada' s or the plain corn tortilla s that come along with your order of pork. The prices are reasonable and can vary from visit to visit so just... More

We are staying in old town, but didn't want to miss out on a lunch at El Bigotes. We walked 4.5 miles just to eat at this place. (We could've taken the bus or a red truck or a pulmonia, but we wanted the exercise.) They don't serve beer, but the cold soft drinks really hit the spot after that... More

If you like pork then El Bigotes is a great spot for you. They start the pig roast early in the morning and stay open as long as there is something to eat. You can order port on a bun or do it the way we do and order 1/4, 1/2, or a Kilo of meat. The waitress will bring... More

This is a great and economical place. Just south of the Zona Dorada, off of the malecon 2 blocks near Sanborn's. Outdoor dining with a limited menu completely centered on carnitas. As I approached "El Bigotes" the scrumptious aroma of Pork wafted from the restaurant. I was the only non-Mexican in this full restaurant on a weekday at about 1... More

The carnitas were very good. We were there early and only one other table of people so we eat slow and looked around, very interesting place, and the trees made it shady and cool. We will definitely return next year.

The whole pulled pork here is still great and the sauce is to DIE FOR. Fresh tortillas cold drinks and low prices make this a MUST STOP every time we're in Mazaztlan. Does anyone have the sauce recipe??

This is so far the only place I have found carnitas. It is located behind the mall, Grand Plaza. The carnitas were great and really great salsa. We got there around noon since by 3-4pm they may run out and you may only have the mixed carnitas with offal. I have not tried the latter.

We needed food for a get together at our vacation rental one night, and that day we saw that El Bigote delivers in certain areas (we were in the Zona Dorada). Our Mexican cell phone wasn't working properly, so we had to use a pay phone on the busy street and communicate that we needed two kilos of carnitas and... More

This is an outdoor restaurant under a canopy of trees which keeps it cool. They only serve lunch and it is a favorite of the locals. They serve Carnitas, tortillas, with all the trimmings. You can also buy to take back to your hotel. and... On the corner you can get the best cones of homemade ice cream. Tell the... More
