Last night four or us went along to Il Mosto on Plazauela Machada. Three of us had Burro Steaks Cooked medium rare. We were all agreed that they were done to perfection. They came served w ith green beans, cauliflower, carrots and pasta. Gorgeous. The fourth member of our party had a shrimp seafood concoction served on shells which she said... More

We went to Il Mosto for Valentines Day and it was obvious that the were not use to so many people at once. With that being said the service was very slow, but the food was delicious. They had a special for just 235 pesos. A dinner salad, fillet that was way to huge for me to finish, potato, veggies... More

ate here a few nights ago and was totally disappointed for the second time in 2 months. The waiters dont have a clue and gave us terrible service when we where one of only 3 tables occupied outside! ... almost everyone in our large party complained about the service and most complained about their food too..... the only exception appeared... Try the black burro steak, finished in browned butter, so yummy. I think this is the best steak place in town. Service is good and they have a decent wine list

We went for the 'black' steak dinner. Received favorable reviews. The steak was good....nothing special. Compared to my home cooked grilled steaks, wasn't all that special for me.

Previous visits had been quite good food and service . However this time something was quite wrong. The food was mediocre and the service was not up to the previous excellent standards. Almost like it was sold and the new people were not well trained. So sorry to see a previously good restaurant go downhill.

We have visited Il Mosto many times in the past and have always found it to be one of the better restaurants in Mazatlan - not the best, but certainly in the top 10+. Well this trip was totally different. No, we did not have reservations, but we never had before. We were assured that there was room for the... More

I followed the other reviewers and ordered the Burro Negro. It is always a joy to find a thick-cut steak in Mexico. It was cooked medium-rare, as ordered. The Greek salad was also tasty. The cabarnet was "Opera", which complemented nicely the juicy steak. A bit surprised not to get nachos and salsa as a free appetizer, but it wouldn't... More

Husband and I both tried the house favorite, black burro. A rather large hunk of beef (I think) with a side of fresh veggies and a side of pasta. We both enjoy a steak on the rare side but this burro was still cold and kicking. We had to send them back. Maybe we are spoiled when it comes to... More

Prior to our visit, I had read Il Mosto's menu online and was really excited about the offerings and was set on going. So we headed down to Plaza Machado and we (or at least I) was not impressed! Before we even ordered we were talking about the Crepes Suzette (which became huge on our list of must haves having... More
